Yes, I had to get completely off the bike to get the kick stand down.

I tried what you are describing with my toe, but my legs are just too short.   :P

Try leaning to the right as far as you're comfortable.  At the same time, shift your butt left as far as you're comfortable.  All you need to do is get the stand out far enough that it doesn't snap back.  When you get it, then just lean left and hop off :)

Define "too short"  26" inseam?

The other option is to get an aluminum pin, drill out your side stand where you want the pin and have someone TIG weld it all together.

Any weld shop should do that for $10 or so.

Yeah, my dealer could tig it up for me.  And if I smiled big enough it wouldn't cost be anthing.   ;D
