Somehow I don't think the time zone would really make that big of a difference for you...

You're probably right. I need to stop deceiving myself. ;)

It's part of my regular workout regimen.   Has done absolute wonders for my lower back and overall flexability.

It's not my favorite (actually it's just one step up the dislike scale from jogging, which I hate) but it's so good for me I do it because of that, not because it's fun.

And like most everything, I'm not very skilled at it.

+1 I never really got into the whole lifting weights deal. Running is out. Yoga has been a great compromise! I've got a large frame. So I enjoy anything that can help me with flexability and speed.

I like lifting.  But the aerobic stuff lets me keep drinking while still getting skinnier, and the yoga and stretching (a lot) helps my back, neck, and hamstrings.  I can palm the floor after two months of regular yoga.    The docs who say you can't get more flexible in your late thirties are just plain wrong.

The slight downside to this is that I'm even more of an ass than before.  Like former smokers who are less than sympathetic to current smokers, I have learned first hand that being fat is a choice.   healthy takes really hard work, but it can be done.   I tend to no longer believe people with 'medical' reasons for being large.   shows like biggest loser and websites like beachbody.com just have too many people actually getting healthy.   If you do it and it still doesn't work then you can complain.....but not if you eat shit and don't do physical work.

<steps down off soapbox>

I'd likely be pretty chiselled if I stopped drinking, but 5'10" and 170 is pretty good so far.   I have now stopped losing weight but am still definitely moving inches from my waist and putting them on my arms, chest, shoulders, and back.

Sounds like you are having a great time. Keep it up! I agree with you on the "excuses".
I do enough weight to add strength. However, that is my least favorite thing. I really have to push to do it every time. (No pun intended) For me there is no point in working out unless it's going to be useful. At 6', 225lbs I'm not looking to add more size. So yoga helps me keep some sort of balance.

on a different topic...I'm still amazed at the people who apparantly browse all the threads looking for places to either correct people or comment negatively.   For sale prices too high, mods done too ugly, someone acted wrong in a situation.   I bet they're really fun to hang out with.  I guess some people need to be unhappy to be happy.    If you look back at the post history the same people have no ride reports, no tech help posts, no welcoming posts to new members.

oh well...I do see the irony of me complaining about them complaining.   ;D

Welcome to people :)

I don't generally complain in threads (unless it's about the tiny text, grrr) but I'm no pillar of the DMF either ;D

In the second line you triple spaced after the sentence.

In the third line you triple spaced after the period. Please get with it!  Proper grammar is needed here on the interwebz ;D  ;D  [laugh]

Off to browse another post for poor grammar and sentence structure.

Afternoon all!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

In the Sponsor section someone posted up in a sponsors section for getting a part at a lower price! Not sure why that was necesary as the sponsors are / will be needed for the growth of the board.

I give you a big  [thumbsup] for your dedication to physical self-improvement.
Losing weight/getting fit is pretty damn hard work and takes a great amount of commitment.
