Long board brushin and paintin today. ;D [thumbsup]

I likes anything pink. ;D
fixed ;)

So i have an oil-tank i'm modifying to work on my CB750 - unfortunately the filler spout is on the side and in my way.
I was thinking i could just cut it off flush to the tank, and then machine a simple 'sight glass' to replace it with
I think lexan and plexiglass have too low of a melting point to be used, and i'm wary of throwing glass in there (it's going to be about 1.25" diameter)

any ideas?

unfortunately the hole is  right on the side of the tank - which is flat. and anything protruding more than 1/2" or so will hit the frame

I haven't checked but how hot you expecting your oil to be? Plexi hould stand up to it fine.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

i'm thinking worst case scenario would be 300F+
from my quick interweb research it looks like that's just about the melting point of plexi

McMaster Carr is saying it's only to about 300ºF.

River

Big hugs to you, BTB.

Good day all.   ;D
Inara: (pissed) "What did I say to you about barging into my shuttle?"

Mal: "That it was manly and impulsive?"

Inara: "Yes, precisely. Only the exact phrase I used was 'don't'."

You going to try to show up my mad skilz, as presented earlier in this thread?  [laugh]
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.
