I just wanted to keep my 'comment' out of the pic thread. ;D

what's with everyone getting sick the past week?

I was trapped in a room with a recirculating HVAC system (completely closed, no outside air at all) while testing on Wednesday.  The student I was testing was completely miserable wtih a cold or something.  Blowing his nose every 5 minutes, sneezing & coughing and the like.  I'm sure that's where my problem came from ~

There really aren't any I have access to.

The other computer, with all our photos stored, died.

I need to get a new one and transfer.

Nope...

home built windoze 2K desktop.

It was a good machine for a long time.

Started smelling funny and then went.....click...and stopped. ;D

I tried to use a mac once.

I was lost.

That would be great except I wouldn't know how to transfer from a windows spec drive to a mac.

'specially from a dead machine.

I suppose I could put the drive in this machine and then do it.

I'd hate to fry the mac by messing with it.

My dad has an xp box he's going to give me.

Those I don't mind frying. [laugh]

On that topic...why do people replace computers that still work?

I had one of these, got 6 years out of it.  Went through 3 power supplies though.  I had 1 CD-RW and 3 physical hard drives in it.  I go to the point it just didn't want to start anymore, motherboard failure was the best I could figure out.

This one's 8.

One power supply in all that time.

Had two drives and a cd-rw.

AMD processor and I had just upgraded to a gig of ram.

I liked that machine.

I still have a copy of W2K.

I might put it on whatever box I get.
