Feelin' better today.  It's been a hard thing for me to accept that I'm laid-off for now (first time in 10 years).  But, for some reason...I'm OK with it today.  Yeah!  I spoke with my boss yesterday and he said that we'll likely be back at it in January and he's sincere but that's if a few things roll our way.  I'm holding hope...but burying myself in my moto-work to get as much done as I can in the next few weeks.

Got GREAT news on Thursday!  My Brother's coming down to LA to visit over Christmas!  Woot!    He hasn't been down here since before the DML blew-up.    He was a member on the DML when he had his '00 SS750 hot-rod that I built him.  It really was too much bike for the streets of SF.  But, since his Bajaj blew-up spectacularly...he's been a public transport/bicycle guy in SF.  It'll be nice to have him here for a couple days!

that sucks man, been there and was lucky enough to get another gig the very day I was let go BUT I had two months notice.  learned a lesson too..........look out for number 1 and phuc the company.  Wishing you well and a quick find doing what you love.

M'ning all.  Glad to see that you got some good news Stu, and especially that your brother is coming down.  My family hates to travel, so it is pretty much left to me to do the holiday traveling since I have lived so far away from them for the last ten + years. 

Anyhow, do you have any idea how far Edwards AFB is from anything interesting?

Thanks for the tip muskrat.  I do plan on taking care of #1.  I have to plan for the worst and look for the best opportunity for me in my current situation.  I do wish that my boss would bring me back to a happy work environment but it may not happen and that's worth planning for.

Hey Knight.  Well, since buying a new Handy moto-lift last month my newly-available-time has become time to work on motos again and I'm using it to the fullest.  I have 3 full-custom projects going on simultaneously so at least the next few weeks will be well put to use!

DRKWNG:  Well, Lancaster is a *bit* out-there but is totally doable.  It's about an hour from Santa Clarita which is on the fringe of the LA metro-plex.  You're in the sticks @ Lancaster, but if you have a day-off...then the drive into somewhere where there's something going on would only be 90-120 minutes w/o traffic.  Lots of twisties within an hour from there!

Oh yeah...and about my brother:

I'm really not complaining here, but in the 5 years he's been a CA resident, I've gone to see him like 25 times.  This will be his 2nd trip to SoCal for a visit.

Yeah...I just read that.  Kinda sounds like I'm pregnant doging/complaining & maybe I am a little bit.

8 times out of 10.... when they call for rain..... the clouds roll in but the rain kinda only falls in the hills. your biggest concern would be snow on the hill.
