Mary- Was that a trade-off?  No beer for 8 weeks in order to get the groovy boots?

Yes.  The trade off was to make sure I really wanted the boots, would wear them, and I had to give up the $ from elsewhere in our budget to pay for them.  It's ok, I can go 8 weeks without  [drink]

i just had a meeting to evaluate where i am in my "performance improvement plan"
i aksed if there were any issues with my perfomance, got a puzzled look and was told no.

note, i havne't really changed anything in regards to the way i do my job, i've just started letting my mgr know as soon as i have solved a problem (i don't always tell her when the problem comes up if it's not that big of a deal)

my direct mgr changed about a month ago and i havne't had any issues. everything is running smoothly, and what problems do come up are left to me to solve and are solved quickly. it's amazing what can get done when something isnt' micromanaged and you allow your workers to do their jobs. the old mgr is now the director of the group and rears her head every now and then, but i only seem to be doing an awful job when she's around despite what others tell me at the same time. funny how that works.

Good luck and I hope that you do improve.

My sister in law always puts people on those plans so she can legally fire them.

Hope that isn't the case with you.

Good luck  [thumbsup]

I would torch it.
