Ning, Nate.

Snowing there?

It's not here!  8)
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Hi dp, ML, Diva, Bick, 'TiNi...  Did I miss anyone?

Congrats on the new cage Diva!  [thumbsup]   What did you get?

i'm sooo outta the loop...
i read something somewhere about someone got a 999...
but i can't find it now

A 999?!  Someone got a 999?!  Lucky bastid!  I just got a 996...+3    ;D

Speaking of which, took Sonia out for her first real jaunt today.  I met orangelion03 at his place in Santa Paula and rode the 150 all the way through Ojai west until we jumped on the 192 into Santa Barbara...  WHOA!   [moto]

On the Monster I'd be working pretty hard, climbing all over the bike to get through some of these corners. Scraping knees, pegs, kickstand.  You get the picture..  On the Trip-9 everything just seems so easy.  50 in second gear is no drama, 75 in third feels like 50 on the Monster did...  She's just composed, poised, and just sticks to the road.  I'm going through some corners 10mph faster and working 1/2 as hard.  This bike is gonna be fun once I learn how to ride her the right way!   [evil]

A little side note...  I found that if you give a little squirt of throttle, as you cross a little stone bridge, over a little creek on the 192, the front wheel can get a little bit high up in the air.  [moto]

oops...   ;D

I blew a couple of apexes because she turns a LOT quicker than Rosie did, with less effort.  She stops twice as fast too, so I over broke (braked?) coming into a few turns as well.  All in all, she runs like a dream, and the only problem I found with her today was the lunkhead at the controls...  [roll]

Also, she has this problem where whenever she's under a bridge, her throttle seems to blip uncontrollably.  I'll have to look into that to see if that's normal for this bike with a Termi can on it...   8)

Oh, almost forgot,  'Ning!   ;)

I told you over braking would be an issue. ;D

Yes, yes you did...  Funny thing is, the first time I did it I laughed to myself and thought, "Ah, that's what Nate meant!"   [laugh]

Maybe only one finger on the lever will suffice...   ;)

Helicopters are fun!  They're like the 999's of the sky... only, uh, different...

More like the K1300S of the sky.  Big & Heavy, but powerful and surprisingly nimble.

Did you make Maple [bacon] [moto] muffins this weekend?  [drool]  (i hear you claim to have a recipe)

No baking this weekend.  :(
Most of yesterday was spent in bed getting healthy so I could spend most of today on the bike...

Maybe this week I will...

From your stated experiences, I can't imagine the differences between a superbike and a Monster.  I was/still am purely surprised by the handling differences between my M750 and my 900SS.  I can't imaging how it would feel to jump on a 999 (or a 998 since I seriously lust after the Matrix edition 998).

I am finding I work too hard to ride the 900SS fast.  When I relax and to with the flow, one would never think I was only working with 80HP on Syreena

I never realized how hard I was working on my M750 (60hp) until I got on Sonia today...

I was overdoing everything!  On Rosie (my former Monster, now Billyzoom's wife's),  I could keep up with the big boys because I had learned everything about how she moved, handled, etc...  I surprised more than a few guys on liter bikes in the tight stuff just by using engine braking alone and carrying gobs of corner speed...

With Sonia, I just need saddle time to learn everything about her.  I would assume it's the same with a live, human woman too, but they tend to ignore me...   [bang]

[laugh]  :-\  :P  :(

I learned a thing or two from my wife's 55HP Honda Hawk.  I'm currently working on my M750 (paint, carb work) and I can't wait to apply that to the M750.  It is really amazing what a "slow" bike can teach you.  Once the transitions "clicks" you'll be surprised what your Monster taught you.  I learned A LOT about maintaining corner speed from the Hawk and Monster.  It's amazing how much we upset a bike when trying to go fast and force the ride ~
