Yes, yes you did...  Funny thing is, the first time I did it I laughed to myself and thought, "Ah, that's what Nate meant!"   [laugh]

Maybe only one finger on the lever will suffice...   ;)

The next hurdle will be deciding when to throw out the hook as you're rushing up to a corner that you're used to approaching at a lower speed.

It's eye opening sometimes and ass puckering other times.

But what about Helga?  [evil]

;D

Helga?  Who's Helga?  ???

Oh, you mean the Angry German Woman?

I was blipping the throttle on Sonia and she kept yelling at me, "9! 9!! 9!!!"  Turns out she was yelling, "Nein! Nein!! Nein!!!"

I thought she liked the bike... apparently not.   ;)

The above story is a complete fabrication, bold-faced lie, a falsehood.  Please disregard everything written above...   ;)

I learned a thing or two from my wife's 55HP Honda Hawk.  I'm currently working on my M750 (paint, carb work) and I can't wait to apply that to the M750.  It is really amazing what a "slow" bike can teach you.  Once the transitions "clicks" you'll be surprised what your Monster taught you.  I learned A LOT about maintaining corner speed from the Hawk and Monster.  It's amazing how much we upset a bike when trying to go fast and force the ride ~

JM

I agree...  I was amazed what I learned from my little YSR50 two-smoker track bike.  On that thing you have no choice but to carry corner speed!  I went from occasionally grazing the ground with my left knee to full on dragging on both sides in the Monster after a coupla days on the track with the 50...  It taught me a lot about throttle control, brake and clutch modulation, and carrying corner speed.  I just need to apply that to the 999 now in it's own way.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

She felt so stable, I had to look at the speedo (bad form, I know) in one of the turns cuz I felt so slow...  I was actually about 10mph faster!   It was a sweeper, wide open, smooth, etc...

She just is so effortless   I'm in love...

waaaaah, don't live right to the east of a Great Lake then.  [cheeky]

I'm just getting the remanants of the lake effect snow, not much more than flurries and mild snow showers by the time it gets this far.

Grats on the 3, they are fun aren't they?
Another one was the only other real consideration if I hadn't gotten the TDI.
Still have my wife's though.
Get the 2.0 or 2.5?

Yes, it is fun to drive.  It's not the STi, but wouldn't expect it to be.

Handled much better then the Mazda2.

I got the 2.0, better on gas.

and better by more than you expect without a big horsepower difference. The one I had was the 2.0 and the one my wife has is the 2.3, which got a slight bump to 2.5 now.
I'd say the mileage difference is about 4 mpg average, the 2.3 does have noticeably more torque though.
