Don't need a battery...I'll bet real money you had some ethanol related moisture frozen in your fuel system.

Try some dry gas. ;)

Evening.  The Monster is far from finished, and the SS told me today, on the ride home that I new clutch is necessary.

JM

You *could* try screwing with the order of the plates and flip some around. It could buy you a little time.

Run it for some miles to get the fuel to circulate around.

The effects might not be instantaneous as water can hide in the system.

I might give that a shot, since it's an dry (easy to service!) clutch.  It wasn't slipping too bad, just when I was heavy handed in the higher gears ~

If you had a spare steel you can stick that in almost anywhere to add thickness to the stack if the fibers look good.

I have some if you need. ;)

That's a good idea too though i put a high perf clutch pack in a friends st4 and neutral with the bike running was an impossibility until they wore in some. It was a thicker stack.

Quit letting them do that to you!

I didn't mean to.

They make steels in 1.5 and 2mm. If the problem is a thin stack the extra disc will work. Otherwise you have the opposite problem like the ST you mentioned.

Don't have a spare, but I don't know the condition of what's in there.  C is away for a good friend's bachelorette party this weekend, so I'll see what it looks like in there.  I had on prior days noticed the clutch seeming to hang a little on downshifts and such.  It's only got 17,000 miles on it, is that normal for a clutch wearing?  Granted I have no service history.

It isn't for the lack of trying my friend. ;)

Lack of control/input is frustrating.

depends on too many variables to know F.

I have 30K on my Monster with an original clutch. There aren't many stop signs around, and I don't use it to upshift.
