Same reasoning that they pay you when they feel like it - it suits them to use you up.  IMO, unless you have a written contractual obligation to remain, once you've given appropriate notice of resignation they have no option but to accept. 

Tell em they're welcome to continue paying you if they dont accept your resignation and see if they still wanna pursue that line  ;D.

According to the contract, I'm giving 30 days advanced notice ...

Thing is, my last payment I should receive around, October 20, since they have to calculate from Oct 1~ Oct 4 that I'm under contract ... So if they pursue this ine, I might loose the other offer and then have nutin'

Their reasoning is that I have to 'train' whomever comes to fill my spot ... remeber a few pages back when I mentioned the 'non renewal' ...

I sent my letter, I start at the shop on October 5th ... I'll be @ the shop at 0730h to start my new job ...

Not talking to them ...Just want my last paycheck for September so that I can pay mortage and new tools purchased for Moto Mecanica, my at home shop ...

My advice FWIW: Give 'em your notice, and on the 31st day go to the beach and write them a letter requesing that all outstanding "love" be sent to you a.s.a.p.... and never go back there again.

Good.  End of the story then.  You can leave with your integrity intact knowing that you kept your side of the bargain  [thumbsup]. 

And if they remain true to form, you'll see any outstanding "love" either much later or more likely... never.  Write it off, let go, move along  :).
