Walking through the city square, full of tourists. Helmet in hand, Ducati jacket on.

tourist
"Hey, where's the D-U-C-A-T-I? "

Me
"Its here, in my pocket."

Next tourist as I'm getting on my 848, with 848 on the side right under where it says DUCATI
"Cool! 'Now that's Italian.' (Like it was an ad  jingle) Is that a Monster? " OOooo that one is for you guys!

on the last 4 bikes we have done, which were all pretty well built to the hilt, we use a Rockstar can as an overflow. No matter how much Ti, Carbon, Magnesium, unreal paint, welding, fab work, anythign, it doesnt matter.. they all ask the same question

"Whats the rockstar can for"

dumbest Q&A I've had so far involved a statie. He already had a bright red Ninja pulled over, and stepped out in front of my black S2R to pull me over.

Trooper: "Why are you so nervous?"

Me: "I'm not"

Trooper: "No? Then why are your hands shaking?"

Me: "I've been riding for close to 4 hours. It's called engine vibration."

Trooper: "Don't try to lie to me. I ride and I know there's no such thing as engine vibration!"

bang head bang head bang head

Me: "So why did you pull me over?"

Trooper: "I saw a bike going the other way pull a wheelie, and I know it had to have been one of you two. I figured you decided to turn around and come back and pretend nothing happened."

Wait. He's a trained state trooper and he wasn't observant enough to tell the difference between a red Ninja and a black S2R? That's really sad. Tongue Who's to say the Ninja was even the bike pulling the wheelie? Could have been a yellow Goldwing! laughingdp "No such thing as engine vibration"?? Really?? Guess he's never pulled over any Harley riders. This story is a sad commentary on that State Police department... whatever state you live in.

Dumbest question about my bike?

"Is it fast?"

PS: It's the dumbest question whether it's asked of my Harley or my S4RS, but for opposite reasons.   laughingdp

Seems like the first question I always get is 'How fast is it?' so I've been working on a response to that.

My standard answer has been 'I've had it up to about 100.'

My new answer is 'I can do the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs'

You are all class in my book. applause

Not a dumb question but... I had stopped at Publix to some food on the way home. I parked in the back of the lot away from all the cars. An older lady, sitting in her car, watched me the whole time. As I walked past her car, she locked her doors! She did it all "Office Space" style without lifting her arm. I laughed out loud right there. laughingdp

You should've reinforced her outlook on life and started barking at her.
