I park my bike in my backyard, but i guess the neighbors kid thought it would be fun to draw on the lower part of my exhaust with black magic marker. Its on the tube before the main exhaust part. any tips of getting this stuff off? ugh.

NevrDull has always gotten everything off anything for me. Brasso is stronger/harsher but may be quicker. I recommend the NevrDull cuz it has never harmed any finish I was working on.  waytogo

If it is on the stainless just use some brake or carb cleaner.

He'll still most likely have to hit it with something else. Both of those failed to take some mystery gunk off my pipe (SS) completely.

You also may want to try one of those Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser" pads.....I am constantly amazed at what these things can clean and remove, most recently headlight lens fog-over and gunk....  waytogo

Get the 91% rubbing and that will probably take it off.  A lot of 'parmanent' markers ink are suspended in an alcohol mix and some other nasty stuff.  But as a result rubbing alch is a cheap effective way to get it out - works great on clothes.. ahem..

To sum it up, any solvent you have on your shelf will take it off.   waytogo

Rubbing alcohol helped me get sharpie ink off the dry erase board. (Would help if I read the pen label before writing on it.  bang head  )

Gun cleaner.  Not for your exhaust, but for actually cleaning your gun after you polish off the neighbor kid.

This brings up a good point - fixing this sucks, but making sure it doesn't happen again is the fun part.  If it was a kid with a marker, I'm going to assume it was a young kid, probably too young to read.  (if the kid is old enough to read and is drawing on your bike, I'm with TJR178)  I've found that loud, sudden noises scare the hell out of most small children.  Find out when the kid's nap time is, take your cans off, back that sucker up to his bedroom window and get the RPMs up to about 6,000.

Take pictures and post them here.  Maybe even video.
