Fog lights that aren't there for bling purposes or those installed by wanna-be ricers to blind oncoming traffic are useful.  I just installed a set on my truck.  They're aimed slightly outward and drop to illuminate the road instead of reflect into my face like headlights do.

I use my fog lights a lot, they are great not only for fog, but also for driving on unlit twisty roads at night and you can't use your high-beams because of oncoming cars.
