hey norm, Im doing a very similar setup. The damper will be rearward of the bottom triple and the adjustment will be on the left. In my opinion its the best, Cleanest mounting place ofr it.

I know technology can be wonderful for those who can use it, but not me. I've used Photobucket before but now I can't seem to upload a pic (after spending much of yesterday just trying to log on).
I just took one crappy pic, but I'd like to post it as promised.

Here's my setup for my 1100S. I love it! But I would recommend using something to protect your bike at the point of contact for the brackets. I took mine off recently and there were some scratches under it. Nothing big, buy if you're anal... And before anyone asks. No, it doesn't hit my knee.

One problem that I see, is that if you ever go to an after-market top triple, you are pretty much stuck with going side mount. I know I've seen the under "brace" style, wish someone would post I pic. That is what I will go with if I ever get one.
If you go with an aftermarket triple or just riser that is higher all you need is two spacers and two longer bolts for the Bitubo setup to work. Several people are running this setup.

This is exactly how I'd like to install a steering damper on my m1100..... wish I could figure out how to make up a bracket for the frame end... hint, hint... any ideas?

If you've seen a pic and can direct me to it, that would be great. Thanks

Hopefully this is obvious, but it can only be done on a triple with risers... not a triple with clip-ons.
The new risers add (x)mm. Making the distance between the damper mount and its mounting point where the ignition switch is the difference between the original height and (x).
So if the original riser was 30mm and the new riser 45mm you'd need 15mm spacers and bolts that are 15mm longer than the original bolts in the mounting kit.
This will bring the damper mount up the same distance as the riser and it will work properly again.

I don't have any images, but there is nothing to see besides two spacers under the U shape mount that goes around the ignition switch... the rest looks identical.

I wonder if the fork-clamped bitubo damper kit could be made to fit beneath the bottom triple clamp in the manner that
Norm
has fitted up his damper??

For the frame mount, you can use a horn mount or install a rivnut (McmastersCarr). On the fork side, use a rivnut or a fork clamp.
