Not to mention the dented rim. I can hear it now: "Dude I was braking so hard I collapsed the wheel and bent the forks. I almost had to lay it down to save it! Luckily, my idiocy broke my fall."

I don't see anything crack addict worthy here, just a couple of nice Ducs.

"THE BIKE WAS IN MINT CONDITION before the accident happened."

The copy from that ad, editorialized

"Just had the bike (had it with a little over 6000 miles on it) and my friend had amn accident on it(Ed. puppies have accidents on things, not people we hope) while riding it. Hhe didn't hit anything (Ed. except the pavement) just broke too hard (Ed. yes he did break it... but he braked too hard) and skided. Tthe bike is in a very good condition considering having an accident (Ed. it was in an accident. It cannot have one, your friend can). The frame is bent though thats why I can't operate it (Ed. consider revision - this statement conflicts with the previous). Engine works and electrics and lights and everything works. Clutch handle is broken though with few other things like foot rests on the left side and front fairings. I don't have the time for the hastle hassle of fixing the bike and just going towill by another one. Have to see it to judge it (Ed. I'm sure you do). ONLY SERIOUS BUYERS. It is very hard and expensive to find parts for this bike (Ed. GREAT selling point) so if you have a use for the parts this is a good deal for you. front wheel is damaged (Ed. should be included in the earlier list) but the back wheel is fine!! THE BIKE WAS IN MINT CONDITION before the accident happened (Ed. They all are- dummy).

While I appreciate the contribution, I'm not sure you're totally up to speed on how we play this little game here.

Those are both decent-looking bikes for somewhat reasonable prices.  waytogo

Things like that do not belong in this thread!  Angry

This is where we bring the poor, misguided souls who have a rashed-up Honda with a salvage title and expect full blue book. The guy who bought an 848 and had a UT Longhorn airbrushed onto the side and now wants to recoup his investment. All of it. Or the poor bastard who thinks everything looks better when chromed or covered in faux Coach logos.

This thread is so that we may hold them up to the light and give them the ridicule they so richly deserve, but their friends won't give them. In short, this thread is the essence of the internet.

Might be a derby, but:

Yeah, it looks like a decently nice bike, but 5 grand for a 17 year old bike with 15k miles?

I dunno if this is a Craigslist Crack Addict as much as Craigslist Gateway Drug User, but I'm pretty sure that this is what happens when someone idolizes cafe racers and Hayabusas at the same time:
