A little extra rake never hurt anyone.
Reminds me of local work. Admittedly I live in reject redneckville (redneck rejectville?). That's no excuse for piss-poor workmanship. Over the weekend I welded in a small patch panel to a buddy's truck... for free (well, help on the race bike)... and the end result is better than the shit he paid for? A different buddy had some aggression to work out after a deployment and left his K5 blazer in a similar state of scuffitude. After clear, there should be no brillo/grinder marks if I'm paying for it.
I'm an amateur at best, but I can do better than the local "pros."
A third buddy ended up losing his bike (an old 750 Virago, worth less than scrap) to the local "custom" builder... I don't know the details, but he never put much cash into it.
It just pains me when acquaintances are paying reasonable money for shoddy work.
