Talked to Comcast. What an exercise in idiocy that was. I had to just hang up on the first guy I spoke to.

I called back later only to find that all the circles he was talking me in and trying to get me to sign up were all for naught as I can't even schedule for someone to come out until after service at the new place has been cut off. That's right, I can't even make an *appointment* for my new place until after the service has been shut off. They had the info that the service has been scheduled to be shut off, and yet I still can't make an appointment.

ran into the same conflict when I moved and carried my service over to where I am....Dolci made effective use of her twitter friends network by tweeting "COMCAST FAIL" and getting them all to retweet it with the problem description....

Don't think the others are any better. Verizon left me without internet at home for over a week because of some issue at a switching station (it only affected me, other people with Verizon in my building were fine -- don't ask Evil). My mother just gave up on AT&T after months of spotty on/off service (every time the net was down she showed up at my apt...  laughingdp).

Results from the Ford Lightning Shootout this weekend.  I drove there in a 4715 lb truck, qualified #6, raced it to low 11's..full power, A/C, ect with the same tires I drive around on with nothing breaking.  Great weekend even though we stayed at a hotel where they found a dead body 2 weeks ago in Charlotte Hall, MD.

Went to Bob's BMW to look at some toys: two F650 bikes a regular single and the Dakar variant. I was surprised that I could comfortably tip-toe the Dakar even tho the seat stands at 35" (both seat and shocks are pretty plush).

Other than height the main differences between the two are that the Dakar has a higher spec rear shock, but no heated grips or top case and is 4 years older.

After that I headed over to Speeds to look at a few Guzzis, a Le Mans and a Breva Sport. The guy I talked to was willing to push a pretty good deal on the Le Mans, but after looking/sitting/fooling around with both I can't say I fancy either. Undecided

did you look at the KTM 950 that was there?

Damn, completely forgot about the Katoom when I was there! bang head Had too much fun jumping from one bike to the other. Half of Bob's beemers now how have my buttocks printed on their seats! laughingdp

Joe's the guy I talked to, he was really willing to push a good deal on the V11 LeMans. But then it has been sitting there for quite a while. Not so much on the Breva Sport but it should sell more easily and I wasn't really interested in it either.

Odd feeling about the LeMans: I really wanted to like the bike, but when I saw it, something just didn't  click... Undecided  I like it in photo and whatnot but I just didn't see myself on it....
