Hi there I am about to either buy a 2007 S4RS Red on Red Frame black rims, in amazing shape with low low miles. I have also found a 2008 S4RS Tricolore with decent miles in amazing shape.
Are these bikes essentially the same bikes. I've read all over the internet that 2007 has 117 HP and the 2008 has 130 HP and the Tricolore has better parts and is mechanically superior to the 2007.
Any thoughts or the difference between these two bikes.
Thanks

Mmmm, I am thinking the Tri-colore. I like those scooters. Sounds like it's a really close call. You say the tri bike is in mechanically superior shape and has better parts. Why? What's it got? Curious minds want to know. I actually wouldn't think the motors wouldn't be any different from my 999. I would think they were the same. I'll let others who know better make that call. Depending on what you say I'm leaning toward the tri bike. Just saying...

Not sure if this'll link properly: ducati.com '07 S4RS vs. '08 S4RSSeems to work... Nothing different between those 2 models AFAIK, other than the paint.

Either one a great Monster. W, a Full Termi Exhaust , DP ECU and open Air box you should come close to 130 RWHP on either bike. Go w, the one that speaks to you. Dolph ![Smiley](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/smiley.gif)

I don't *think* there's any real difference between an '07 S4RS and an '08 S4RS TC.
However, the S4RS TC is produced in limited edition - 1 of 400 made.
It sounds like the '07 has lower mileage. And the TC is slightly more rare. Either bike will make you extremely happy. I guess it depends on which one you like the look of better.

The HP diff is from Ducati going to crank HP like the big 4. Same exact bike. Different paint. That's it.

AFAIK they are the same same, 'cept for the paint and the limited edition number badge on the TC Those HP numbers are probably measured two different ways. the 117 is probably Rear Wheel, and the 130 is probably at the crank. Most of the time, there's a 10% difference between the HP at the crank on a Duc and what's measured at the wheel - which matches exactly to this scenario 117 = 130 - (130 * 0.1)

if the price is close i would go with the tri-colore.
it should hold value better as its a numbered LE as was noted.

+1 or same bike different color go with the better price.
+1 My guess is the TC is priced higher due to the "awesome" paint job?
