Friend of mine got "matched" with someone on a dating site...this is the intro she got from the guy.

Quote
We've been matched. While comparing our profiles shows why, my first burning question is: Can you dance? Can you accept an invitation to a pleasant evening of social dancing?

There are few things more fun and romantic than two dancers moving to music. Including film, theater, art, and literature, dance plays a role in nearly every romance genre. Dance has been a preferred social grace within polite society for over two hundred years. To be a genuine romantic, there is just no getting around it – you must dance. Your profile infers you may appreciate this. Partner dancing is about cooperation, rather than competition. Remember, “It takes TWO to Tango”. As you’ve seen, my profile describes (among other things) an enthusiastic amateur dancer. I am not an instructor or professional. Partner dance runs the gambit from the Freestyle and Jitterbug/Swing you did in your high school gym, the Foxtrot you tried to do at your Senior Prom, the sensuous Mambo featured in the contemporary films “Dirty Dancing” and “Dance with Me”, the Disco/Hustle popularized by John Travolta in the film “Saturday Night Fever” and even the breathtaking beautiful formal Viennese Waltz depicted in the classic film “Dr Zhivago”.

Furthermore, there are few things that spice up a travel experience better than being able to dance well in festive settings, be it a formal ball, cruise ship, private party, or intimate club. But once the function is staring you in the face it is too late because acquiring dance skills takes, not only physical fitness, clear lungs and a mind and body that work, but also a certain amount of TIME.

Happily, basic dance steps can be easily learned by anyone and used to great advantage at a host of fun and festive venues and carriage trade events. My airline piloting career has provided countless of these opportunities in centers of culture around the world. If you are not a dancer now but enjoy the thrill of new things, then diving into a dance hobby may be for you. (Rumba is the dance of love, you know.) The open question is whether you have the mind, body and sticktoittivity for choreography?

My Gulf Coast home has a lively dance community that is great fun to get plugged into with plenty of smoke-free and alcohol-free venues as well as the rest of the country and even worldwide. Over the last few months, while traveling, I’ve attended wonderful dance parties in New Orleans, Montgomery, Colorado Springs, New York, Halifax, Los Angeles, and London. They can take a bit of sleuthing to find (which is part of the fun). For pure recreation, the ones I prefer for their consistent high quality and well behaved crowds are those sponsored by local chapters of the national dance organization – USADance.

www.usadance.org

One thing is for sure: couch potatoes don't dance. Hypnotized by pointless gladiatorial combats, they ruminate in sedentary vicarious gratification. In contrast, dancers are dynamic quality people with smiles on their faces interested in meeting other quality people and having a good time.

For all of its charm, getting a dance education can be frustrating. From my profile you see that I am an enthusiastic, optimally fit, well-trained amateur. My tested physiological age (four months ago) was 41 years with an optimized BMI of 21. So if you are in average physical condition, you’ll likely have to train a bit to reach me. A sore muscle here and there is a small price to pay for endless dance fun.

If, like me, you are 24 carat real, if you would appreciate an attentive escort to a pleasant evening in polite society and are a trained dancer in the American Style I can arrange to take you dancing sometime when I am in town. If you are not, I can suggest how to get started in what may turn out to be one of your favorite social activities.

Just drop me a note and together we’ll craft an appropriate dance adventure which is an ideal way to begin exploring our many other listed profile activities.

Sincerely,

Stephen

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Looks like the ghost of Bob Fosse may have appeared in a new body...clearly he has no interest in her other than her ability and desire to be a hoofer

She should respond with something to the effect that she is accomplished in the St. Vitus Dance

He's retired (at least that's what it says on his profile). She posted a link on another board...

location, liking to travel and dance...just not at those fanatical levels and she's still trying to figure out why else they got linked.

UPDATE:  Turns out that some years ago, a Newf rescue foundation sent my friend to take back a dog from HIM...she now remembers him VERY clearly.

This has added an entirely new dimension to it all.
