How far D?

Their first day shooting UKD, so we had steel out from 450-850. We set one out at 1,550 for us to play with.

Nice opportunity to dip ones toe into the CZ well, for cheap!  Any reviews on the 82?

Only thing is my local FFL charges a hundy to handle the transfer......

I picked up a Bulgarian Mak a while back and have shot it only once.  It's a mixed bag.  The makarov round is actually pretty decent for the size, but the old school guns weigh a ton and ammo isn't cheap.  It's not a good carry gun, even though people do carry them.  There are plenty of better (i.e. smaller, lighter, cheaper, better performance etc) options out there.

Of course, if you just want the thrill of shooting a ComBloc pistol, they are fine.

My Bulgy Mak came in a pair -- the serial numbers have a Cyrillic two-letter prefix.  One is "AH" which of course is "AN" in Roman letters, but the other was "AЖ" which the FFL transposed as "AX"... They were imported before the party favors guys got wind of them being sold with non-standard serials.  Effectively untraceable.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I haven't had the opportunity to air anything out long range since last summer.  Analyzing a shot, making your adjustments and landing a first round hit is a great feeling. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to demo my friend's 50 Cal bolt rifles he was making.  A customer wanted to see it shot at 2000 yards.  We screwed the barrel into the action the night before and I had done some calculations about how much elevation we needed.  We had to machine a special base that had .200" taper in 8" to have enough elevation in the scope.  I boresighted it, dialed in my caluclated data and we drove out to the guys ranch.  He had a white 55 gallon drum out in a freshly plowed black field that was closer to a mile than 2000.  I set up, made my adjustments for wind and the different elevation and touched off a tracer.  It went about 6 feet from the barrel.  The customers were real impressed that the first round was that close and I made a grand explanation about how we calculated and machined everything and such accuracy was completely normal.  Inside, I'm like "WHEW - WERE WE LUCKY"  I was happy we hit the hill!  They bought 4 rifles, so it was a worthwhile trip.  I really miss doing that stuff.  Once you get past a half mile, things start getting interesting.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

Cool story. [thumbsup] I'm for shit at long range shooting. Probably why I have always taken urban rifle classes where the shoot out was 100-200 meters max. ;D I'm more better at hand shake and entry room distance. [laugh]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

KAC M110.

So, how would you rate the Knights when compared to your new toy?  And now that I think about it, I can't recall if yours was the "lite" or not...
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

The KAC is an ok gun, but it doesn't come close to the OBR. Mines an 18in 7.62

I've heard that from a few other people as well.  Funny how the LaRue stuff is also a good bit more affordable.  Shame they don't make a full ambi lower...

I'm right handed, just left eye dominant and don't really feel like combating the fact that I've hardwired myself to operate long arms as a south paw.

I am also right handed, left eye dominate. I shoot long guns off my left side, but shoot handguns right handed. It gets rather annoying having shells fly across your face <sigh>
