I would say paranoia

and I clearly have that.

I suppose I am obsessed with buying firearms, but then again, who isn't?

I don't have any kids in my house, so I don't have to worry about protective safes, etc.


I suppose my paranoia is that I do have firearms scattered around my house just in case.


Now with my crazy sister in law in town.......heightened level of sense of security is a priority as we have had drug users to our house. And if you've ever been around them.......they can do crazy shit.

Glad I saw this before I posted this link. No politics with this just Supreme Court law regarding gun owner rights. Hope this is OK by DMF rules. Just let me know if it isn't, I don't think so but the Admins are the boss on this stuff:

I have a Crimson Trace laser on my Glock 27. I wonder what the professional gun guys (military/police) think of these lasers.

It was close enough to make me remember his. You're right, great book! I should take the time to read it again. Made a pretty damn good movie too.

Never used a Crimson Trace. Hey, if it works and helps you shoot better so much the better! Sometimes I think the more shit you add to a gun can be a problem just waiting to happen, but that isn't anywhere near being too much. That's just my opinion. And no I am not a professional. I'd be curious to see what others think.

We don't use them. I have never shot with one. If I am chasing the laser around, I'm not using my sights. Are they a bad thing? I say yes, but if you like it and it works for you, have at it.

I've got ghost ring sights on there also. I tend to use the laser to screw around and hard sights to shoot. Got the Crimson Trace about 15 years ago. Probably wouldn't bother now. It was useful in showing my wife how to use the gun.

I did discover that shining the laser on my wife's engagement ring (with the slide, barrell, and clip removed!) makes a hell of a light show.

I'm going to start shooting with my neighbor (former SEAL, former cop), I was just wondering how much crap he is going to give me about the laser. I had cop friends in Miami that thought it was "cute".

I'm with Kopf on this one.  Lasers (at least ones that are visible with the naked eye) aren't that terribly useful unless you're not willing to learn how to shoot properly.
