There is just something about girls shooting guns that are bigger than them. ;D [evil] ;D [thumbsup]

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

The new 9mm AR should be here in 2 weeks  [beer].  I ordered a JP GMR-13 a few months back, and the wait is finally about up.  They came out with a new billet lower that takes Glock mags.  They offered a billet, side-charge upper version for another $500, but I went with the standard forged upper.  Ordered a few 33-round mags for a somewhat sane price  [thumbsup].  Now the hard part....Beta makes a 100-round drum magazine for Glocks....for $380  [bang]  I don't know if I will be able to resist!

With how long and difficult it may be to load the Beta drum(and of course the cost), I imagine you could get quite a few 33 round mags loaded and swapped. me less than 2 cents. lol Have fun with your new shooter!

LowThudd

$23 bucks each. That is over 15 33 rd mags for the same cost as the beta: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/33-rd-mag-for-glock-17.aspx?a=556295

Factory Glock 33-round mags are $40-50 each.  The cheaper mags are Korean made by KCI.  I have heard they work, but look as cheap as they are.  I want to use this gun in some local falling steel matches, and the 100 round drum would guarantee never having to reload during a stage  [evil]

I was in my local WalMart yesterday (Fairfax, VA) picking up stuff for my office.  I checked out the ammunition shelves, and lo and behold, they had Winchester 5.56/223 ammo in stock, a mere four boxes left.  They were $10 each, and despite the store's 3 box per day policy, I got all four.

$10 per 20 box is 0.50 cents each.  The cheapest I've found online is around 50 cents not including shipping, which upps it to around 55c and that's usually TulAmmo or Wolf -- slightly better than nothing.  This was commercial load Winchester.

They also had some .40 and .380.  I came back today and bought up the .380.

I stopped at the Wal-Mart in Lebanon.  They had 45 which most everyone has.  Then I asked about 22.  the response was "no."

I asked again.

"No."

"Are you sure.  You seem to have a lot of boxes on the floor?"

"Oh I do have them."  He proceeds to take the 50 round boxes out of the brick.

"I want the whole brick."

"I can only sell you the individual boxes."

"Okay."

So I found some 22lr at a very reasonable price.  It's coming.

Nope.. Lot of shells.

I think I am going to drop by every couple of days now.  I was shocked at the price on the 223.

Anybody here build a custom 10/22?

I have several bigger "toys", but need to build a varmint population control tool.

Want to build a 10/22 with a heavy barrel, thumbhole target stock with custom length-of-pull extension (to better fit my freakish lanky frame), and scope.  Debating whether to buy a whole Ruger 10/22 then tear it apart for the receiver, or just buy an aftermarket receiver and build it from scratch.  Options include the Select Fire RAZOR (80%), X-Ring, Volquartsen, MOA Corporation stainless, Tactical Machining Elite22, etc.
