Concealed Carry

In light of recent events I want to discuss a few things and offer some advice. (No make the beast with two backsing politics)

Carrying a firearm concealed for the purpose of defending others or yourself bears great responsibility and training to execute on demand with 100% accuracy and accountability. (Read that again out loud)

Most folks here know my background and what I do now that I'm retired. If you are allowed to carry where you live, you have got to 'train'. If you wear a suit to work and carry, you need to spend time training in that attire. I know far to many folks that carry, but never really do any training in that configuration. You need to test different holsters and mag pouches (1 mag will only get you so far)

I shoot more ammo per week than most folks shoot in a year, and I'm still learning. One of my quotes is "Stay green" meaning if you think you know it all, you better walk away now before you get yourself or someone else make the beast with two backsed up.

Situational awareness is broken down in 4 colors.

White
Yellow
Orange
Red

Most folks walk around in White, completely unaware of their surroundings. Don't be that person, whether you carry or don't. Yellow is a good place to be (that's how we drive, well some of us. Doing several things at the same time). I float in and out of Orange when I'm moving around in public.

Know the condition of your gun at all times. I drop mags and press check for brass when I get out of my truck to enter an establishment. This does two things for me. Let's me know the weapon is good to go, and gives me a mental check that I'm moving around in public with a gun, (I carry everywhere) and reminds me of that responsibility. (I take this very seriously)

If you don't carry (or do), when you enter a crowded venue, note where emergency or back exits are. Don't go hide in a bathroom if the shit hits the fan. Don't be a sheep.

Keep training, your life could depend on it. As always I'll offer any and all advice I have on the subject. I'm a very passionate trainer, ask anyone who's ever been trained by me, or worked for me.

Cool. You should see if a small museum might want to exhibit those.

That small museum will be in my house  [laugh]
They were my father in law's, the Nambu he took off a soldier in WW2, along with the guy's sword which my wife's nephew has.
The Colt was made in 1919 and the Nambu in 1934. Was pretty easy to find out with all the info on the internet.

If you come here, I'll show you this collection. Truly amazing, and it used to be in his house.
