JJ, no Ouray for me this year. I'm kinda broke. I'm still here. My orders got canceled Smiley So you guys are stuck with me now. I rode the other day after work with no issues. Not sure about the weekend tho. Let me know if you wanna ride tomorrow.

So I ended up going for a ride this am and went up to the crest about 9. I made a few good runs and met up with some 65yo guy on a V Strom that smoked me going down my last time. That guy was good/crazy. He rode the hell out of that bike. No cops but there were a ton of cyclists that thought they owned the road. I came around a few corners and they were riding in the middle of the road. Other than that, good riding.

The dude on the Vstrom hates Ducs and looks out for them to whoop em. He also crosses the double line and drives like a general a$$ h#!&...but he is really fast

Yeah when I talked to him he mentioned something about ducs and that I had one. He said he had one and got rid of it and he likes to mess with em on the mt.

As far as crossing the line...I dont know. I couldn't stay behind him long enough to see that. I was riding close to my comfort level and couldn't keep him in sight for very long.  Tongue

I am going to swing by CAD Sunday and have a cup and head up the mountain or out S 14 to scrub in my new tires. I just realized that I need to do that. I look forward to seeing anyone who comes out.

yeah i have to give him that, he is fast. If you hold the throttle open and can direct your bike around a curve while going full throttle, you and I will be fast too

No doubt. Ford and I went out S. 14 and saw quite a few. We both have new tires so we kept it under 100.  Police

Well..I tried to go for a ride today Roll Eyes
Took my S4RS to put it through it's paces after getting a fork seal replacement
and a new front tire before she makes the Ouray trip. I only made it 1/3 of the way
up the Crest before the bike decided to quit on me...no electricity. My cell phone had no reception
at that spot so I decided to coast down the mountain in hope of a good signal.
Funny thing is, I had to hit the brakes due to some of the slow moving cages in front of me. Grin
I made it to the Shell gas station without engine power and called Pam to bring some tools.
My thoughts were that it had to be a charging issue since a similar thing happened
in Bernallilo before I replaced the battery. I charged the battery at home in hope that it
would allow me to start the bike and bring it home. No go...turns out that I fried the voltage regulator/rectifier
which blew the main fuse...hence no electricity.
Thanks go out to Jim DeBlois for offering to forego his Jemez ride to trailer me home and to Ed for rescuing me for a second time
and bringing my bike to Scott who volunteered his expertise to fix it.
The moral of this story: Ducatis are not the most reliable things in life, but my friends sure are waytogo
Thanks again guys Wink

Sorry, Karl! Was it the charging last time as well or did the battery need replacement? Glad it is fixed though.. waytogo You can buzz me, have my little trailer ready to run always...Sits on West side ABQ.

Are you bringing the S4RS to Ouray & not the 1098?!  Sad
