snip.... and I hate that about America.

You should hate the fact that people in this country get all up in arms about some dude that bounces a ball for a shit ton of money.  AND that they feel personally hurt because this guy doesn't want to play for a team they like.   [roll]  This guys nuts must be sore from everyone hanging on them for the last 24hrs.

Will my life be changed if I gave a shit and watched this guy play a game?

Dude why the flame job?

Just because you don't like sports doesn't mean that most of the country and world doesn't.  I love sports because it gives me something to hope for and to lose myself in and not think about all the shit going on in my life.  I love sports because it gives me a reason to get excited and to hang out with my friends and to talk and argue with people about it and to give shit to fans of other teams.  Sports is all about getting all up in arms about something that matters to a me, a city, a state and all the fans.  Hey, if I was a Bulls fan and he didn't chose the Bulls I would be mad but he left his home and an area that is really struggling for make the beast with two backsing Miami. There is a difference.

Maybe your life won't be changed but the lives of many people in Cleveland including jobs and business income will be affected and that matters.

Jay,

The economy of Cleveland is not solely reliant on the Cavs.

If they were, that would be one effed up economic system due to the size of the city. Cleveland has much bigger issues then losing the hometown hero.

It wasn't a personal attack at you.  I apologize if it came off that way.

I enjoy watching some sports plenty.  I love watching the world cup, boxing, fighting, etc...  but I have never felt that it was anything more than entertainment.

I have to agree with cyrus, you can't blame a city being down and out because of a basketball player.  He never asked to be a role model, economic stimulus, saviour... he is a basketball player.  He owes Cleveland nothing more than he has already given.

Honestly you can take Lebron and replace it with Tiger and my rant will be the same.  Both great athletes, maybe nice guys but they aren't civil servants because we choose to glorify their existance.

I personally don't care what LJ does or did or what he makes of his move...I say good for him to run his movements like a business since the big sporting events in the US are now more like the business of entertainment than athletics at the upper eschelon...

what tweaks me is that ESPN wasted an hour+ on the broadcasting waves to feed this whole thing....and to that I say make the beast with two backs LJ and ESPN....it is just simply ridiculous....he isn't Micheal Jordan and I quite frankly don't see him as being the second coming of MJ or as making something for himself for when he is done with the sport like MJ did....

It didn't, I just wanted to show my feelings on what sports means to me.

No worries here.  This is just what sports is all about.  You know what they say about opinions!

To Lebron and ESPN's credit-  the show did raise a lot of money for the Boys and Girls Club of America.

I also know that the anger I have now will fade but Lebron did do Cleveland dirty.  Seemed like he quit in the playoffs so he could leave. If they would have won the championship he would have had to stay.

That is my whole point.  He quit in the playoffs because he knew he was leaving.  He then lead Cleveland to believe they were the frontrunners and bounced.

I've been a fan of Lebron for several years.....I do believe that the 1 hour special was ridiculously self serving (despite the money going to charity).

I agree that Lebron has given plenty back to Cleveland and should go where ever he wants to play-7 years is a good long run.

If he is an Ohio State fan, then he already is a fair weather fan.

However, different being on the receiving side of things.

Better one man wins and a whole town looses ?

So one guy should sacrifice for the greater good?

He did what he felt was right for him. Same as the rest of us do-I don't see what the issue is.

Florida does not have a State income tax .

His $57, 000,000 will be worth a lot more to him there than it would be in either Cleveland or New York ( about $12,000,000 ) .

He won't be the " STAR " on the Miami team w, Wade and the other guy.

He gets $57,000,000 a year...Cleveland will loose $200,000,000 a year now that he's gone.

What one man can do to make the beast with two backs up a city.
