oh maple bacon cupcakes, YES! What do you frost with?

I make it myself.... This is basically it.   

Maple Cream Cheese Frosting

In the bowl of a electric mixer cream together:
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)
8 ounces cream cheese

Once creamed and not lumpy, mix in:
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Once thoroughly combined add:
4-5 cups of powdered sugar, sift if sugar is lumpy
Mix on medium high until light and fluffy, about 7 to 10 minutes

Crumble extra crispy, well drained, and patted dry maple cured bacon on top

usually seen em with a Maple flavored frosting...usually some form of a white cake made with bacon grease integrated somehow into the recipe (read once where to make a clarified butter with bacon grease and then let it harden and reuse as desired) and then the crumbled bacon mixed into the batter

No bacon grease in the frosting or the cake batter, as it won't allow the cake to cook properly.  I drain and pat dry the bacon before I mix it in with the cake batter.

   YUMMMM!!!

I'm much happier with the bourbon barrel aged micro brew that I'm sipping right now.

Seems to be the trend these days. While I was home over New Years (having surprised the parents  ) my dad snagged a couple of bottles of THIS:

Belgian Quad, brewed with cherries, then aged in bourbon barrels. Disarmingly smooth for an 11.8% ABV "beer." A bit sweet to drink more than a glass or two, but no need to drink much more than that as you'll be feeling it by then anyway.

Snagged a bottle of that, along with several of Boulevard's other "Smokestack Series" limited editions in anticipation of my friends Sam and Sarah getting back from Japan later this month. 

For current content: Smithwick's. Better from the tap, of course, but still good.

due to lack of water ... 'breweries are downsizing brewing capacity ... their water purifiers need water with no more than 2% per xx volume in order to 'destill it' to make beer" ... so beer is on it's way to extincion due our water issues ...

Not bad, less initial bite than tequila, similar finish.  Chased with MGD 64.  So far a good night!
