Well, days are getting short and the air is getting cold. When this happens, a young mans fancies turn to turning wrenches and busing knuckles....

So, once (if you actually do) you pull the bike(s) off the road for a winters rest, what's your project plans.

Me:
- Pull shock for service and install a Traxxion preload collar. And I'll probably paint the spring while I'm at it.
- 30K service + belts
- New chain and sprocket set
- If I'm not feeling too poor from the above, ceramic coating to the nut roasting exhaust
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

- '08 KTM 690 StupidMoto
- '07 Triumph 675 Track bike.

Well... I was going to:

1. Swap the front end - I had a guy lined up at RnR to fit GSXR1000 forks
2. Install an undertail exhaust
3. Finally do the tail tidy
4. Suburban Machinery bars or clipons
5. And, like you, if enough money left, coat the pipes.
6. Oh, and have DucPond look at the fuel sensor

1. Ride
2. Send ECU to Houston Superbike for flashing
3. Install Trailtech Vapor
4. Wrap headers
5. Paint the rear spring
6. Finally clean the damn thing
7. Swap sprockets and chain
8. Install new MC covers and levers
Every time I meet a new group of your friends that understand you and your weird sense of humor I'm a little more amazed that there are other people in the world like you that lived through childhood - My loving girlfriend

1. Ride

+1 on that. Just bought electric gloves and a pair of cold weather riding pants is next 8)

For the 750:
1) it needs a new rear spring
2) there is an occasional oil leak from the engine that I need to investigate
3) put some high-comp pistons and 800 heads if I can find them for cheap.

For the 900:

...

well, we'll see ;)
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

My winter plans include:
- add reflective red rim stripes (and then remove forks reflectors)
- 14T sprocket
- Get rear sets, exhaust guard, and upper triple powder coated
- install M3 suburban machinery bars
- Remove emmisions cannister
- install Stebel Nautilus airhorn
- Maybe purchase a cool belly pan I've had my eye on

We'll see how much of this actually gets done lol

Oh yeah, and forgot, now that I picked up some winter gear, Ride!

Since I'm bikeless I can help you out with these...

- 14T sprocket
- Remove emmisions cannister
- install Stebel Nautilus airhorn

- I've got the sprocket for you already and can help you install.
- I just removed my canister; fresh in my head. Plus I've got the correct screws to plug your intakes.
- My loudass horn survived the crash. Not a Stebel, but won't require a relay either.

Just ping me when you're getting motivated and we'll plan for a Saturday or Sunday.

PS: I have some other parts you may be interested in... ;)

620ie heads are the same as 800 heads FWIW FWIR and therefore might be easier to come by/across...hell...maybe in Wunmi's parts fiesta of the 695 after he gets BGB's 800, you can possibly pilfer the heads offa that bike maybe?

Hell yeah, thanks a lot man.  That would be really helpful because I don't have the know-how or tools for some of those tasks.  I'm hoping to get motivated enough to get my new bars installed this weekend.  I will definitely ping you after Thanksgiving about the other stuff.  I still have my Nautilus and the relay lying around from my SV, and I will be glad to pay you for any stuff you have such as your sprocket.  [thumbsup]

Whatever works.  I'm all about keeping it in the family.

BGB's S2R800 is supposed to arrive on the 18th. Hoping it will be the 17th and I can bring her to the meetup.  otherwise I'll be on the 695 minus some bling.

According to Brad (bike boy's) site, the 620 heads have the same valves as the 750. Do they flow better? Don't know. Is it worth it? Don't think so. :P

After some eBay surfing I am actually getting kind of mixed feelings about upping the 750 vs getting it a new engine. Heads and pistons will probably end up costing me around $700. I've found 900 engines for that much... :-\

Of course if I do end up putting a 900 engine in that rat, I'll start looking for upgrades to that the moment I hit the starter button :-[
