Thought I'd start my own thread by now seeing as though i'll have slightly enough modifications to consider worth mentioning. Anyways, heres my bike thus far. Not much done except for the swingarm swap from an 1100 that im finishing up now. I need a longer brake line is all. Hypermotard wheel installed as you can see.  Rizoma grips and mirrors. Ducati low seat. Speedymoto clipons and boom tubes will be installed in the next couple weeks. hopefully some metaltech rearsets as well. I welcome any questions. I'll be updating this thread only from now on about my bike. More pics to come coffee

Also this setup I'm working on has gotten rid of about 20lbs so far. Definitely compliments the power to weight ratio. Which in my opinion is the only way to go if you want to gain any performance outta this bike. A different intake may help but it doesn't seem like any companies have really pulled major results from their systems to deem worthy of spending the money for. And aftermarket exhausts only give you a few more HP.

there's one out of netherlands or sweden or something that has gained a lot of horsepower.

the one company out of Aussieland has pods and PC V setup that gains something like 10. out of the stock ECU.

the bike has a large throttle body (same as the 1100), large valves (largest that fit with good flow according to noted ducati race engine builder) and better flowing head than before (one of the main jumps in HP from the 695 to 696)

performance gains are only really going to come from the more expensive mods at this point.

Yeah that's sort of an exclusive club your getting into when you start rebuilding the engine. It's kinda hard to go that route for the average rider, maybe not so much for the monster rider Wink, definitely possible though. From what I gather from the weight I've lost, I estimated that I've gained about 5HP, from a power to weight ratio standpoint.

Wait, an 1100 swingarm swap, and no write up? Isn't that illegal?

Maybe I am just not seeing it but I don't see any exhaust.  Not even headers.  Are you running without any exhausting piping?

Rizoma Naked prototype mirrors, grips, and bar ends. Drilled new holes in the handle bars to get this setup to work.

Newesh Monster 1100 rear swingarm swap. Bought everything off ebay off of bikes with only a couple thousand miles on them. All in great condition, maybe a minor ding here and there but nothing to complain about. Its a straight swap, no hassles at all really. If you want to get technical about one thing, it might be about the washers/spacers that fit in between where the swingarm mounts to the engine. When I pulled off the old swingarm, 3 washers fell out. 1mm washer on each side, as well as a washer thats like 0.1 or 0.2 mm on the right side. I have the shop manual that explains the reason behind all this, but i didnt bother doing anymore measuring when i mounted up the 1100 swingarm. I just used the same washers/spacers and installed them in the same spot. Worked just fine and I didnt have any loosness or play after being tightened up at the correct torque level. Hopefully I dont have issues with this later down the road.

Obviously you can tell theres no exhaust. Im eagerly awaiting for Mark at Motocreations to send me the boomtubes, he seems to be having some issues with the ceramic coater at the moment. I blocked the ports so that no dust and dirt would get in there in the mean time.

The brake is just hanging there because I have to get a longer hose and re-bleed them. But it will mount cleanly as well when done. And if anybody has any idea how to correct the speedometer reading, please let me know. The 696 reads 6 magnets/bolts as opposed to 4 that the 1100 sprocket comes with. Thanks in advance.

Marchesini Rear wheel off a Hypermotard with a Dunlop roadsport mounted. Excellent!(Wayne and Garth Voice). Mounted with no issues as well. Did the research..1100, 848, and hyper wheels are all direct swaps.

This pic you can see where the spacers would fit in between the engine and the swingarm

And finally my ducati low seat. Lovin this seat. Definitly compliments the bike well with its material and shades of black. I'll probably buy another one now before they discontinue it.

More coming soon!!....

wow, amazing. can i get a picture of the left side dead on, it seems like the swing arm is longer, meaning, the wheel is actually farther back than on a 696?
also, the springs is at a different angle, wondering how it looks from that side.
how much may i ask to do all this? noticed a swingarm on ebay is 800, and a wheel is 700

seems steep, but want so bad...

ugh

nice work. Jealousy.

Both swingarms are the same lengthwise. Both are roughly 540mm from the center of engine mount to the center of the wheel axle. The ride height feels the same too. And until I ride it, I wont know whether or not I need to adjust the shock, most likely will.

Side note: I really need to get rid of that charcoal canister vomit

did you change the shock clevis on the rearsubframe? if not, you're riding at the same height as a stock 696.

motowheels has the replacement part for the charcoal canister.

you might want to think about raising it before the boomtubes arrive or you're going to be very low.

Ask Mark how much the clearance is on the 696 vs the 1100.

oh, and apparently he needs photos of the boomtubes on the new monsters on his sponsor pages.

Yeah Raux I told Mark about this setup before I ordered the boomtubes. Said he just has to modify one part but other then that it's no problem. Hopefully he remembered this when he finally got around to building them. Ordered them back in November. I havnt touched the shock or changed the Clevis at all. Everything was a direct swap Smiley

DucatiTorrey: Your exactly right on the prices. This is one of the first 696's off the line, so I've had plenty of time to plan and save money to justify the cost.

i think if i ever get around to it, itll be that way, just start saving. If you think about it thought, for the same price, i may be able to sell the 696 and just get an 1100 on the cheap
