Gorgeous, great work all around, I was so pissed when they unveiled the 796 only a few months after I picked up my 696...black powdercoated rearsets, single sided swingarm and the 10(ish?) spoke wheels...ALL THINGS I WISH THE 696 HAD!!!
Any thoughts for mods on the front 2/3 of the bike? Looks like all your mods are from the seat back. (not that theres anything wrong with that)

You're ignoring his Rizoma mirrors. Mine show up next week.

Thanks. Lol, I tell everybody the same thing. I got this bike long before the 796 though, wishing for the 1100 engine instead at the time...along with the sss. I'm just glad ducati is listening to thier riders and fixing the designed parts that nobody likes...it's about time they got rid of the beer can exhaust. Unfortunately it's only for the 1100evo. But the design is finally becoming complete. There seemed to be a lot of last second design ideas IMO when they started this new line of monsters. I think ducati needs to some how screen there new bike designs with people that don't work for the company...listen to thier buyers before unveiling something that's goin to take years to improve. I've only seen this happen a couple times, other then that there bike designs are unmatched out of the box. But the product management team knows exactly what it's doing to try and sell more bikes, and I gotta hand it to them for this.
Anyways, up front yes I do have the rizoma setup, grips and mirrors. Speedymoto clipons and top triple will be added soon. Then later down the road possibly some different forks, maybe an engine swap. All parts that I think the first design should have come with.

Imho, I like the exhaust on my 696 better than the 1100evo (which I JUST saw for the first time) It looks too much like the Diavel...which I think looks too much like a vrod...although it is growing on me...a little. My only gripe about the "beer can exhaust" as you put it, is the overall size of the cans themselves. Oh well, thats why theres an after market right? Ducati built a great start, now its up to us to reshape it in our minds eye!

The evo exhaust is ugly. The over-under concept is good but the Harley-esque routing of the headers is pathetic.
I'll take my big stock pipes any day.
That being said, I was at the dealer yesterday and learned two things:
1) The stock seat on the '11 796 is different than before and really nice. It doesn't push you into the tank nearly as much as the one on my 1100. I'll probably be buying this soon.
2) ducati will have a termi pipe kit for the evo available soon which supposedly looks better than the stock evo pipes. I'm eagerly awaiting more news on this and looking forward to exhaust manufactures following suit.

My 696 came with the Ducati Performance touring seat (which im pretty sure is just 2.5 inches of gel exported strait from gods matress) but I full on agree with the overall shape of the 796 seat. As the salesman at my local dealer put it, "it doesnt have the same testicle smash effect as the other two models" Now if they make a touring version of the 796 seat, ill be buying one of those!

Just got the speedymoto top triple. However it came with two roll pins that are mounted into them on the bottom where my headlight mounting hardware needs to go. Is this right? Or do those need to be pulled out?

Take them off
They seem like there pressed in, and even if i get them out, there wont be an threads to screw the stock hardware into. Unless i mount them on the top, which in that case the headlight wont mount at the bottom triple. There are threads on the top of the triple. I guess I could just flip the triple over.

They are pressed in but only 1/2 way. The rest is threaded. Pull them out and get the correct screw and you will be fine.
Ironically the threading is the same as the threading on the throttle body EGR breather. So if you removed the charcoal box and plugged the holes left in the TB after removing the nipple with a screw.. it's the same size.
That either helped or royally confused you.
