Well I finally got off my butt and ordered the
Ryca
kit for the
Suzuki Savage
that I bought. I'm in the production order and paid my first half of the payment.
Here's some before pics:
First step, go to Harbor Freight for a motorcycle stand. It's on sale!
Second step, start removing stuff.
I took off the tank and the rear wheel hub to send to Ryca.
So far:

Sah-weet! How did it ride before you took it apart? Are you still planning on the paint scheme we talked about? Good move on the stand. It's nice to have the bike up at an easy to reach height when you're doing that much work.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

I was out on it that morning. The 650 thumper had a nice bit of get up and go, about 33 HP from what I can find out. Low seat, forward controls, front brake is grab a handful and pray. Rear drum brake actually works better. I'm definately going to get a steel braided brake line for the front. The seat started to hurt my lower back after about 20 minutes. I can see why newbies get scared on a bike like this.
We will have to see how thing handles after it's all done.
I've got Lisa working on the decals for the tank, and I've found the paint color I want, now I just have to bring it all together.

That looks like a fun conversion. Maybe we should all do one. How much is a savage anyhow?

If you tell them you're ordering more for established local club racers to create a race class I'm sure you could work a discount. C'mon, you need new things to crash anyway.
