I can't get that song from Dexy's Midnight Runners out of my head...

on a serious note, just finished helping my dad haul a bunch of boats. my work schedule for the big event is as follows

on call tonight (not sure why..)
6am Sat-6am Sun
8pm Sun-8am Mon
6pm Mon-6am Tue

Yeah, I was kinda wondering about that when I saw where you said people were headed this way from all the way out there.

I've been here for hurricanes worse than what this one was predicted to be before it died down, and I can't remember anything like that for those.

OMG!!!!   I don't understand why people are freaking out so much.  I went to the store last night to get some ice cream at 11pm and it was crazy.  There were at least 100 people at the store all buying water, milk, bread, and canned tuna.  Are they really going to sit at home drinking milk while eating a tuna fish sandwich?  

Do people really not have food in their pantry to sustain them for 2-3 days if the damn world ending hurricane hits?  [bang]  A bag of rice or pasta... an old can of beans?!?  

I have prepared for this storm New Orleans style


Admittedly, I did evacuate for Katrina, but thoroughly enjoyed every other hurricane/storm warning during my 5 years there.
