It's a SoCal thing, you can find them outside of almost any and every bar or night club in LA. Depending on who's making them they can look a lot better than they taste.

There's a little old mexican lady that makes them outside of the venue I work at, she definitely makes them with some love!

If you're ever in NYC, you gotta try out Crifdogs then...

http://www.crifdogs.com/menu

My favorite is the goodmorning... bacon wrapped hot dog topped with melted cheese and a fried egg.

And if you can, try to get a reservation at PDT (Please Dont Tell) which is the hidden bar inside Crifdogs.  You'll have to walk in and then go into the fake phone booth.  Pick up the handset, tell them your reservation, and then the wall will open up letting you into a hidden room which is PDT.  It's pretty fun and the have some pretty solid cocktails in there.

Denver has Biker Jim.

He started with hot dog carts.

Then he built a restaurant.

And now he's got a food truck that he wants to franchise.

The dogs are fantastic.

Nothing like a good dog! popcorn This year at the guy's opening season dove hunt at my buddy's west TX ranch we had chili dogs for dinner one night. I made the Wick Fowler's 2 alarm chili and my buddy cooked the dogs. Only thing that would have made it better was more cold beer and wrapping the dogs in bacon!! waytogo bacon drool I'll try that next year.

The ones at BK Taco (especially the South Tucson location) are pretty phenomenal.   waytogo

I once had a near religious experience on the street in Pioneer square In Seattle. A big dog with bacon, cream cheese, grilled onions and spicy mustard.

Gotta love drunk food.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

I've been on a dog kick lately, this is something I've never thought of. My mouth is starting to water.
