Finally got around to watching both Donnington Park races.  DAMN that was good racing!

Kept watching that last turn over and over and it looks like Rea wasn't at fault in any way. Looks more like Haslam leaned into him hard, Rea reacted by trying to counter the extra weight a little over-zealously and then Haslam got bumped off line and the rest is history.

Definitely just racing in my book.

And the stuff that Rea made on Biaggi the turn before...CLASSIC!  applause

Been watching that footage over & over too. Racing is racing, true that, but I think Rea was showing some of that reckless disregard that was so common from him 2 years ago when he was flat out dangerous on track. That stuff on Biaggi was over the top in my book and a miracle that a crash didn't happen right then & there. Having gotten away with he pulls the same shit on Haslam. I think he was too hot on the inside and used Haslam as a rail. I'll watch it a few more times but that's how I see it now.

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

It looks like Haslam turned into him not Rea drifting out to Haslam. Just the way i see it. I hate Biaggi so anyone who stuffs him hard is OK in my book. I am just happy to see actual racing versus the Alien parade.

Everyone has to keep in mind that there's the way the Brits race and then there's the way everyone else races ('cept for a coupla notable exceptions).  On British soil, it's their rules.   Besides, Biaggi may be a clean rider, but Marco's a f'n maniac.  Rea's got nuthin' on him.

Dunno if even Biaggi felt that way about the pass Rea made on him.

He went right to Rea and shook his hand at the end of the race as they were circulating on the cool down lap.

Melandri precipitated the whole incident by his attempt.

He went wide and Haslam got dragged out with him. Rea had the room.

+1

Haslam left a small gap, maybe due to Melandri's desperate move, and Rea went for it. I think pretty much any other racer at that level would have done the exact same thing.

+2 I'm still wondering WTF was Melandri thinking. He just threw it away. If Melandri was not out there Haslam might have been able to save it for at least 4th. That's if Melandri's make the beast with two backs up didn't mess him up into giving Rea a gap.
