MY attitude?  Wasn't me who posted the scowling reply.

A little levity, boys, this is supposed to be fun, not the Lord of the Flies...

Sorry, the joking tone didn't come across...

It was intended to be levitatious.

Picked up a 749 fuel tank, a white GSXR front wheel (the super-skinny Honda wheel will go on later this season), an 848 cylinder head for air-flow research (2014 season) and a fiberglass 'Busa fender which will be easier to mod than the plastic OE fender we have in the photos thus far.

CLOSER....  & closer still!

2x 50mm head pipes merging into a single 66mm pipe heading into a reverse cone megaphone exiting low mount on the right side.  Along the way, it picks up a wide band O2 sensor then a small pipe to scavenge windage from the crankcase.  The undertail OE design isn't needed for the ground clearances of salt flat racing so we ditched the OE style & all the additional bends...

I guess with that exhaust set-up, you shouldn't experience any issues of restrictive flow on WOT at the top end then?

the run up distance is long enough and the traction low enough to not have to worry about low end tq losses and be able to tune the system strictly for high RPM operation.

High velocity exhaust creates a vacuum which sucks out the aerated oil from the crankcase. That negative pressure allows the pistons to move around more freely.

Can't run that on a street bike as you're sucking aerated oil into the atmosphere. Road racing won't allow it either. Legal @ drag racing & Bonneville.

Totally not worth it in a street bike as I suspect it's only worth 0.5-1 HP at a maximum.

(if that much.)

it's enough for the panigale to have a positive crankcase suction

Every bike with a breather connected to the airbox has that...no?
