With the Bonneville salt flats on a long-term hiatus, I think I'll be putting my 350cc build on a similar path at least for now.

Due to weather, mud flow, and salt depletion from the nearby mining company, all the events have been cancelled this year except for what amount to private events hosted by Mike Cook.

Most events were cancelled or at least affected by weather last year.

We're hoping (as so many people are) that something will be happening in 2016...

Things are looking up-ish for 2016.  We'll see how it goes.

Picked up some new clothes for Lucky while on vacay... Supercharged Ape took them to just over 200 with a little wet shot of the good stuff at the Maxton Mile.  Should be slippery enough for our needs.

The discount from new was totally worth the look I got while I shoehorned them into the back seat of the wife's car. :D

Plenty of room to spread the bars out and make the low speed handling less scary.

...at the Maxton Mile.

I wish they were still racing there.

That place was a lot of fun.

There are a few other options depending on where you are located.  In fact, the SCTA is trying a Mojave Mile next month.  With certified records.

If you like a fast and loose environment, the US Mile contingent seems to be the fastest growing LSR group... for a definition of "fast" in a pretty esoteric motorsport.

Dirty Duc

Alright.  About to send off my entry for this year.

The SCTA has two rain-out options set up, so chances are presumably better.  The race team currently equals two, so I'm just registering one bike as I don't feel like enlisting a chase driver on the salt.

Even with one bike, still plenty of opportunity for A&R (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

This year they changed the leathers rule so normal race leathers are acceptable.

New clothes mounted. The paper nose-cone is pretending it will be a pattern for an aluminum addition to fill the aerodynamic hole in the front.

The fuel swap I'm considering 90%.

Tuning... is on hold. Along with honey-dos, I spent an inordinate amount of time obsessing over the bodywork last year, and forgot to drain the water out over the winter it found it's own path to the floor through the side of the horizontal cylinder.

Next on the to-do list is the cylinder swap and finish installing the datalogger (linked tasks).

Hopefully, I've solved the ignition pick-up problem that gave us the phantom rev-limiter... the ECU seems to be very susceptible to EMI in the hall effect cable... maybe I'll just wrap it in tinfoil.

Then tuning should be a rinse, lather, repeat with EGTs and acceleration calculated with weight of the bike. :D
