machining a stock flywheel
«
on:

I'm keen to get a lighter flywheel for my 2005 620. I've heard that a machined stock wheel is pref errable over an alumin aftermarket unit.
Two questions:
Are flywheels model specific, I'm going to try and find a used one on eBay, does it need to have come off a 620, or will other wheels fit also?
I will get a local machine shop to turn it down, has anyone got the required dimensions to slim it down to?

Thanks brad, that's exactly what I needed. I was going to try and find a second hand one
Are they model specific?

Depending on the size of the package. I sent a clutch hub out to Australia for $12 bucks from USPS. It isnt all that bad.

It's the other direction that screw us Aussies. Cost me $120 to ship two brake discs to china. A flywheel to USA would be like $50!!
