Road rage

This morning I'm in the cage on my way to work and I saw something interesting.  It's a 2 lane road and someone had parked in one of the lanes, so everyone tries getting into the open lane.  Like a zipper everything is fine but this one car a couple of cars ahead of me would not let a tow truck in.  I let a car in and continued to the next light.

I see the car waiting at the light and the tow truck driver pulls next to him in the available lane and starts argueing with the guy about not letting him in, guy in car is yelling back.  Tow truck driver gets out and opens the passenger side door of guys car and is yelling at him.  He eventually pulls the guy's keys out of the ignition and throws them across the street, says something like "fetch" then takes off.

I just thought it was kind of funny, but a bit extreme for some driving etiquette silliness.

Anyone else see or have road rage that becomes more than an exchange of words?

Let that be a lesson to you. All ways have your doors locked.

LOL first thing I did when I saw this happening was, "did I remember to lock my doors?"  Took a glance and all was good.

Sound advice from Mr. Joe Walsh - Not only entertaining, but also educational.

Would not be shocked at all if this would have happened.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I honked my horn and gave a dude a finger once in my cage. He had cut me off and brake checked me when I flashed my lights.

Next thing I know he was stopped, out of his car and had a gun pointed to my face in the middle of I-75.
He cussed and yelled for awhile, got back in his car and left. I got his tag #, called it in, and never heard anything.

I don't play those games anymore. Cut me off, fine. Don't let me in line, thats cool. I got all the time in the world.

A buddy of mine was on his GSXR on the highway and had a suburban really make the beast with two backsing with him to the point where it was becoming a dangerous situation (there's a bit more to it, but you get the gist).  Chris decided to GTFO and in passing the 'burban, knocked back his breakaway mirror, cracking the glass in the process (thank you carbon knuckle guards).  Can't say I would have reacted the same way but it amused me nonetheless.  Maybe it's just me, but cagers definitely see motorcycles (and cyclists for that matter) as pedestrians who aren't really entitled to their portion of the road.

i run into angry people all the time.

i also run into people that let me go because i'm on a bike.

i have punched mirrors, kicked doors, dented quaterpanels, ect.

it's not really worth the angst you build up in the situation. emotions are hard to control at times, and if i feel someone has put me in more danger than i'm normally in then i start to get worked up. i just try to think of how i would react should someone come after me when i consider dropping the sidestand and taking up the issue face to face.

+1.
I don't want to be on the front page as the guy shoot because of road rage... Crazy guys can do whatever they want on the road, I don't care. [coffee]

Yeah, go toe to toe w/ a driver and you might end up with about as much potential to having fun as this rider:

I once was attacked by a driver when on my bicycle, in broad daylight, with people watching. >:( [roll]

Now when people piss me off, I try to remember to wave and smile at them.  It's just not worth it.

Toronto, Canada just had their first reported case of road rage causing death, some ass break checked a Suburban at 100km/h (60 mph roughly) suburban veered to avoid hitting the guy caught the gaurd rail and flip 3 times.  He wasn't wearing a seat belt so was ejected and the suburban rolled on top of him.  It doesn't always take a knife, or gun to kill you.  Lets be honest ... are you ever in that big a rush!  I just like yelling in helmet and keeping my hands on the bars you just never know.

Cheers and drive safe.  I'm sure someone something wants to see you when you get home, and I hate seeing wasted Ducati's on the pavement.

my ex was the KiNG of ragers... not only on the road, but that's another story...

ex once threw a very HOT cup of coffee into someone's car window... i was not in the car, thankfully.
he was making a left turn, and someone honked at him for not pulling over far enough for them to go around him... they pulled along side of him and called him an asshole, and he threw the hot coffee in their window.
he went to carwash to wash the coffee off the side of my car, and was surrounded by police with guns drawn. needless to say, the moron was arrested... that is only one of his road rage incidents  [roll]

myself, i was run off the road, and yelled at by a soccer mom with small children in the back seat who said i was speeding  [roll]

she argued with me that she lives in the neighborhood, and her children play on this street... blah, blah, blah.... i asked her if she always acted like a lunatic with them in the car? i said i was sorry to the kids in the back seat for making their crazy mommy yell, and drove off.

When I was a kid, I was always puzzled by the bad guys in cartoons and movies who wanted to destroy the world or kill everyone. What did they have to gain from such an action, if it would kill them as well? As I got older, I started realizing what an unrelentingly awful place the world can be, full to the brim with people too inconsiderate, selfish, uncaring, or just plain evil for words.

At some point, I stopped wondering about the bad guys' motives and reasoning.  :-\

One outstanding NYC memory of road rage was when I was in college.  We were on our way home from school on the Long Island Expressway during rush hour.  This guy in an old Caddy was taligating and blinking his headlights, like we were blocking his progress during bumper to bumper traffic in the right lane.  Finally, the driver of the car we were in had enough and did the simultaneous brake accelerator stomp.  The Caddy, after it's bumper nearly ground into the pavement changed lanes and preceded to try and run us off the road, actually making contact.  His window was opened.  We were armed with water pistols and opened fire.
