Do you have a before-after weight for the motor?  I'm curious how many kilos you dropped - I'd guess ten or so?

I am hoping that it will be no more than the standard Monster 600 it started out as, even with the bigger water cooled engine.

I keep trying to trim a little off here and there.

Really slow going, whilst waiting for the powder coating and painting to be completed.  So I decided to start gathering up some blingy bits and bobs.

Picked up some bargain silicone hoses from AS3 Performance:

All I need to find out now is what size alloy finishers I need:

More stuff to follow as it arrives.

I know it has been a while but here are the body panels:

The trimmed and de-seamed front mudguard looks okay:

I will be picking up the powder coating on Thursday.

The powder coating is home, and looks bloody good.

Slowly to be honest.  Work gets in the way.  I am hoping to have it together for the summer.

Love to see you do a hi comp, short manifold, split FCR motor with ported heads one day. Monster needs some frame struts moved to do it which I wasnt prepared to do. With hotter cams, bigger valves, porting and short manifolds on a 944 motor some have got 100 aircooled horsepower.
Pretty cool.
I reckon you're the man to do it. ;D

I have a 900 engine to play with that has Hi-Comp pistons already (it is in the other project) and I will be refreshing the engine once that this one is almost complete.

I will be trimming some weight off the internals and clutch casing to start with.  I will see what else I can get hold of for that one, at the right price!!

Do you know what brand and exact color red was used in the powder coating?

Sorry I don't, I just asked for red and this is what he did.

I know it is almost 3 months since the last post but here goes a small update.

Collected the valve, cam and clutch cases from the painters, a really nice gold:

Home made Corse clutch case (this will be my spare):

My home made extreme clutch case:

Mocked up the clutch case, I think it looks really good against the primer grey:

So this is how far I got today - almost a complete bottom end back together and sealed.  Roll on next weekend and hopefully it will be complete.
