Thanks orange, shook it, rolled it. It was stuck to the 3bond, all over now

Turn the engine upside down and shake it.

The larger o-ring is 88641321A.  The smaller o-ring was always 938232037, doesn't appear to have changed to an 8864xxxx number as yet.  I have 88640371A listed as the later primary drive cover one, but I'd have to look at it next to the others to see how it varies.  Those 3 numbers are all it could be.  88641321A was 938270114 and that was the change when they enlarged oil holes with the 996 engines in 1997 or so.

The first o ring part number you gave it the small one, I have that, need the larger one in the rear

Diagram shows both same, both not same

My sources allege this is the one you need:

88640371A ---- O-RING 14X1.78

Fits most everything 2001 and later.

Wrist pin clips usually go PING! and surpass the speed of light, vanishing completely.
I suspect they land on a pile of orphan socks in a parallel dystopia.

Or they try to take an eye out.

Those cases are 2001 - large oil pick up screen with separate cap.  I would have expected there'd be a centre o-ring between them, but it is what it is.

Using the "slide over a drill bit" ID sizing method:

938232037 - 9 x 1.8mm

88641321A - 11 x 1.8mm

88640371A - 14 x 1.8mm

Just out of curiosity, what's the first 4 digits of the engine number, like "RA4Y" ?

I usually put a drop of blue loctite on the studs and a very gentle tighten.  Not for any real reason, but it stops them going anywhere.

The idea with a stud is that it gives a sacrificial thread section that is easily replaceable, unlike the thread in the cases.  As long as it's not moving in the cases when you load it I think it's fine.  But I'd not really have any issue with anti seize and hand tight either.

Any other learned opinions / experience on it?

That’s the oil pump o ring.
This motor has no internal o ring.
F#*k beer, I went straight for the tequila
Took it apart unnecessarily based on a ducat type o
Then dropped the clip right after I put I back together, I will learn at some point, lol
I will do the rag thing, derp.

I found the APE studs a bit tall meaning I fitted the top nuts with the head not quite home to the barrel .
