Having watched a few I hear Dan more.
You could waste the better part of a day watching that stuff. [thumbsup]

I saw this and it made me think of you... not sure why.[laugh]

Actually, I do have a mostly final dry weight.

3800 lbs

I was always hoping to be closer to 3,000 but I also knew that that was likely a pipe dream. This truck is 99% metal and 1% plastic.

Progress continues. As of now I have a functioning clutch and creation of custom brake lines is well underway. Possibly by the end of next week I may have working brakes!

I've had a custom length drive shaft built which I sandblasted and powder coated black. 1350 u-joints installed.

As it turns out with the rear axle at full compression the drive shaft would have contacted a factory crossmember. So we cut the middle of that out and added a drive shaft loop, which we were going to do anyway, to give us more clearance and some extra safety.

I also now have a super badass shift boot. I sketched up a design and collaborated with the famous Mr Buckethead of the DMF and he created it for me in exchange for some machine work.

I had already made the trim ring at the shop. I Incorporated a number of small 8-32 tapped holes along the underside in case I needed them to mount the boot.  I ended up using a piece of brake tubing with a heavy chamfer to make myself a little punch tool that ran great in a cordless drill to make holes in the leather.

Even though this was technically a test piece he gave it end result quality just in case it fit and it did!  I secured it to the shifter with a commercially available aluminum collar from McMaster-Carr.

Both brake reservoirs and clutch reservoir are all plumbed through the firewall with bulkhead fittings and connected to the masters. As mentioned earlier the clutch has been bled and functions great with decent pedal feel.  All the lines are a combination of braided stainless with AN hose ends or 3/16 stainless hardline.

Love the mod for the driveshaft [thumbsup]

What's the plan for the shifter head?  You gonna do a normal ball or something metalhead like a chrome skull or the like?

Plain white ball for the knob

I could have done something metallic and interesting but practicality won out on this one.  I felt that the plain white ball was the right look for the truck and if I had made a metal one I know from experience those suckers get awfully hot in the summer.
