I am paying someone local to help build my website. It's way outside of my wheelhouse. Plus I will get good written instructions on how to make updates!

Quote from: ducpainter on April 23, 2025, 05:58:31 PMCongrats Kev.

WRT the paid help...I figured out right away I wasn't going to be able to update this forum by myself...it's just not my wheelhouse. Paying someone who knows wtf they're doing is worth every penny.

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Currently at 5 weeks waiting on a plate.

Tuner guys says go drive it.  Can't tune anymore until I can get some road time in.

The waiting continues  [coffee]  [popcorn]  [popcorn]  :'(

The state rejected my app so I'll need to get some updated pics to them.  Sounds like it's small stuff that's just a formality.

In the meantime works has continued.  It's basically done at this point.

I built aluminum cover panels to hide the giant gaps between the outboard sides of each seat, a center console (two cup holders and a usb phone charging port) and a small storage box with magnetic lid on the drivers side cover pannel.

Completely rebent, cut and rewelded an LS dipstick tube so it fit without touching anything.

Center console begins.  Three pcs of sheet aluminum and two machined cups for... the cups.

The bead roller was tearing the lid up too badly so we made a die and squished it in the press.

I made this die to dimple the seatbelt slots in both cover panels.  This lid has the same slot at the same angle as a spot for fingers to grip.  Click the second pic for a video of the dimple process

And finally, as she sits now.  These are the first full profile shots I've been able to get where you can really see the entire truck.

Oh you mean with a fake plate. God no. Quick way to get on the flatbed to the impound yard around here

That's a great point. There's literally zero chance the cops would ever recognize the truck if they ever saw it again  [laugh]

Ultimately: personalized plates?

Never been a fan myself but somehow it seems like that thing needs something better than 3EJ-6H34 (or whatever) on its tail.

Antique plates are only like 4 characters, I believe.

If it was five maybe I could get 11tyb
