Thought I'd post a few...

Lexus aka "Lex"

Jack von Daniels... an incredible upland dog

The late, great Tank... a wonderful dog for 14 years... gone but not forgotten

AkLiz

My husky, Crystal.  She's incredibly people-shy but very dog-social (she was an Iditarod racing dog and spent most of her life surrounded by lots of dogs, but few people).  We've had her for about five years - this is my favorite photo of her, taken shortly after she came home with us.  I should note she's about 70 pounds, and there was no photo-shop wizardry with this photo....she just darted right in and glared at me *grin*

They are indeed!

Sidebar - is that Turnagain Arm in your signature pic???

JBubble

Cuddle time with Grace last night. She still thinks she's a lap dog at 70+ lbs.

I got a puppy with a limping left paw.

Apparently he was sleeping yesterday and was chewing on his toe/pad area, then ever since he has been gimping on it.

but yet, he will still run around and jump on you.

I did a pretty good exam from my limited means of being a doctor, but pressing at various points all throughout his entire left leg (up to his shoulder) gives him no discomfort.

I even simulate walking with his front leg and still notta.

I can't figure out why he is doing this.

Dogs sometimes chew their paws when they have food allergies. I don't know why he is limping (very small sliver maybe?) but the paw chewing could be the new food.

He was only chewing at that one and was for a brief time.

Not sure where he would have walked to get a sliver, though.

That is why it is sort of boggling.

He has his pre-surgery appt wednesday, so we'll get it checked out then (He's going to get "tutored")

Did he scrape up some of the skin on his pads of that foot? I've had my dogs do that before...it can be hard to see if it isn't too severe. If so, he'll get over it.

Gabby (the black one) had a mean limp a couple months ago. It seemed to be coming from her left shoulder. Some days no limp, others it would seem pretty bad and she was in obvious pain. YET, if I brought out the bubbles or a ball, she would still go ape and run like crazy...only to return to limping after she cooled off. Just when i was about to take her to the vet to have it checked out, it went away. Weird...although I did switch my mutts to a senior dog food which has some joint health ingredients a couple weeks prior. Dogs are crazy!

I originally thought a scrape, but it looks normal and under pressing on it..........he doesn't care.

He goes in to get his nuts cut Wednesday and my wife let them know about the limping issue, so they will check him out then.

These aren't actual DMF dogs (yet?) so someone please tell me if this needs to be removed.  (I also placed in the Atlanta section but they seem considerably inactive over there!)

Two AWESOME yellow labs (in Atlanta) need a good home

A VERY DEAR friend has moved from Georgia to Uganda to be a missionary.  Her 2 Yellow Labs are staying with her mother until a new home can be found for them.  They are exceptionally well-behaved, loving dogs!   (What lab isn't?!)

I am posting this to see if you â€" or someone you know â€" might be able to give them the home they deserve.  My friend's brother will help deliver them as will several others who have mentioned interest in helping to relocate them.  Below is a write-up from Staci about her beloved boys so you have a little more information about them.

These yellow labs  are sweet, loving dogs.... great companions.  Love to walk (a little out of shape, but they do love it), love to play catch and will bring the tennis ball back (won't run much at all outside in the heat, but will chase a ball inside the house and love it).  They are loyal and sweet, great with kids, very obedient (my niece has been able to control them since she was 3.... at 6, she still gets them to do whatever she wants.... lays over them, plays with them, makes them sit and lie down - easy).  If I wasn't moving out of the country, there would be no way that I'd sell them or give them away!!  I've had them their whole life and love them dearly!!! I Need to make sure they go to a great home that will allow their last years to be at least equal to, if not more, comfortable and more fun
than my life with them !  J

Here is some of their info.
They are litter mates, and 8 this year (as of 6 July).
They need to stay together in the same home.
Sebastian is in great health, weighs about 109 lbs and up-to-date on all shots etc.
Finley weighs about 104 lbs and up-to-date on all shots etc.
Finley is on thyroid medication and seizure medication
Seizure meds make him "starving", so he can't have access to food sources in between meals (like a paper dog food bag being left on the floor that he could chew through)
Thyroid meds have been fine and he's lost weight appropriately
Both boys have measured food and they eat twice a day (every 12 hours) so Finley can get his meds every 12 hours... as really needs it regularly
They require indoor/outdoor access (dog door or regular times being let out of the house)
They cannot be left outside during the day in the heat because Finley does not need to get overheated (meds/seizures)
They are good to be left inside, but may need some breaks because Finley's medicines make him thirsty - so he drinks A LOT and therefore has to go potty often
Finley - never had any accidents and sleeps inside 8-10 hours per night without issue (but he's also not awake during those hours and drinking much at all)
Best to be in a home with a fenced yard and dog door, as they do love to go out periodically and just hang out/walk the yard.
They love to ride in the car.., and really are just happy-go-lucky dogs who love everything and everybody

If you're interested and believe you can offer them LOTS OF LOVE, security and meet their needs noted above, please PM me and I will hook you up to talk to their "mom"/my friend.

Thank you for your consideration and/or passing this along to help find them a good home!

Update:

He is over it.

Now the poor little boy gets his nuts chopped off tomorrow. Always the worst part about neutering/spaying is keeping them under control and not puppies for a few days. Sure, the first night is easy since they are doped up on Ketamine, but the next day, they think they are normal again. With Greta the Vet gave us some sort of medication to help calm her down for 2 days so she wouldn't be a typical puppy. Didn't like doing it, but last thing I wanted was that 5in incision to split open.

I just hope he is a good boy and I won't be forced to put one of those god damn cones on his head

Stella - I started the thread and it is all things dog related. Definitely keep that in here. There are lots of board members in Atlanta and I believe Carlos has many contacts there that could potentially help find these two labs a nice home.

note: as most labs are nice.........a dog is a dog and learns from an owner.

Greta and I got attacked by a yellow lab last year at the dog park and it took three very hard kicks to this labs head with my knee to break it off myself and more importantly, my dog. Poor Greta peed herself and I wanted to maul the owner.

I'll stop though, don't want to make your post about me.

GLantern

My St Bernard was rushed to the ER yesterday morning his larynx is paralyzed  :'(  He is still there right now and the surgeon is coming in to discuss options this has been the hardest 24 hours ever.  Does anyone have any advice with this condition?  I'm devastated right now his trip to the ER was so scary by the time we got there his tongue was grey, they have had him on oxygen all day and night.

Very sorry to hear about your dog.

My only advice would be is to do what is best for the animal.

We had to make that choice back in March and it wasn't easy, but the right thing to do.

Prayers to you and yours, as well as your gentle giant.
