I park my truck (15-16mpg commuting) and usually ride (40ish mpg commuting) unless my tires look like this:

Then I drive the 11 year old Taurus (22-25mpg commuting)

Looks like I'm going to order a tire today seeing as I took that pic after my ride home yesterday  [laugh]

I'm just worried that she will fall off.  She is not the best driver.  She looks at plants and misses traffic cues.  She never looks at the other lanes.  She might learn to pay attention if kept her alive though.

My fiancée is easily distracted too (I am too, I should have been the poster child for ADD when I was in elementary school, but they hadn't discovered it then) but I seem to focus just fine on the bike.  We've talked about traffic, looking ahead and being aware what's behind and beside you.  We also talked about not being able to look and take in the scenery.

I think riding will make her a better driver.  I have noticed that I pay more attention now when driving than I did before.

I save sightseeing for when I'm riding cupcake.

This is true.  I pay a lot more attention when driving a cage now and notice a lot of things.  Part of that is my commercial/school bus training also, but I think the "pay attention or get hurt" part of motorcycling is the most of it ~
