Apparently, the helpdesk manager gets offended when you mention in a group email to his bosses that you don't trust his techs not to screw things up.
Then when he demands an explanation and you come back with descriptions of techs arbitrarily deleting registry entries and deleting whole folders of systems files...

Not giving a shit has freed me on a high level.

They have also been scrambling around to find someone to replace me since my only backup's last day is today.  Way to plan for contingencies you make the beast with two backstards.

The discussion became a phone discussion between my micromanager and the helpdesk manager. He hung up when I said that I should call him Yogi since he is in charge but completely inept. 

The best thing they can do for me now is fire me. At least then I would have 2 full weeks off between jobs.
