I wish we could get more smaller diesels here in the states.  I want a diesel for towing, but the only way I can get one is going with the larger trucks.  The Dodge is basically a pickup sized road tractor.

JM

Have you considered the new dodge? It's still huge, but it's a 1/2 ton pickup and it apparently gets 30+ mpg.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I was thinking they were doing a diesel, but can't find it on their site.  It's mentioned in one place, but the link takes me back to the main model selection and that is only for the 3.6 Pentastar and the 5.7L motors.  I was thinking the Pentastar was gas.

Too expensive for me but I imagine in a few years one might do it. I do like the concept-time will tell if they hold up.

Finally found one with the diesel available.  They are high, but looking at the big three for trucks in the configuration I need that's in the same ballpark as the gas ones from Ford and Chevy.  The bigger (3/4 ton up) diesels are another $10k at least for the configuration.  Looks like it'll be a while before I'm buying!  Too bad only Dodge offers manual transmissions anymore.

Why are the Dodge trucks heaps cheaper than Ford or GM? Purely a popularity thing?

According to the Chart. I could Make money with the Dodge by using it for commercial fishing or tours. It goes way further out into the Pacific than any of my cars...

This is the big thing here.  You can likely fight it depending on your local laws and such.  Here in NC, if you are stunting in an empty private lot and stuff, you have to have some type of barrier separating the lot from the roadway it accesses.  This can be as simple as a rope across the vehicle entrance.
