Big teaching week. We are doing a custom on-site 40 hour hazwoper. 4 10 hour days. I have the middle 2 days, plus day one of the asbestos building inspector, and then a short (2 hour) lead class on Friday. I am teaching 14 days before Thanksgiving.

Got done painting the roof.

Good for you, most folks don't go that far.
Were you painting shingles, shake, composition, or tile?

Evening.  The desktop I had put a thread up about replacing finally quit for good.  The Northbridge cooked itself.  I managed to rebuild an even older one, but at least I have something that works.  The phone isn't good for everything.  Now, I just need to get my old hard drive connected to this computer and pull my images to the external.

Ah, the corrugated stuff.

Well sort of. it's mostly flat with a ridge on each side.

Its this kind of thing. This is not my house though.

OK, that kind, yeah.

My GF's previous house had that.
It had a closed attic and we get precious little rain, so never noticed any sound difference.

Does it sound like metal roof when it's raining?

Got done painting the roof.

I remember a certain H. S. Thompson painting the roof to his barn in response to "requests" from the county, very visible from the highway on the way to Aspen.

A bit of a statement that cannot be posted in the "Family Friendly Forum" if photos did exist.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

You can hear every drop on my metal roof.

It has to rain hard. This is an old building and the metal roofing was put on over asphalt shingles so that deadens most of the noise.

Makes sense.
My GF's house had the metal roof from new, no idea what was between it and the sheathing.

Really?

You've got some of the house with open beam ceiling, yes, but a lot of insulation?
