Spiders aren't so bad. My garage is loaded with them but this time of year they turn frosty.

dude... they bite!

Doesn't hurt much, it'd hurt them a hell of a lot more if you bit them.
I like them, they get rid of flies and other nuisances like neighborhood kids.

I made ribs last night, I can pass that recipe on.  A little prep time in the morning (20 minutes + wait on the ribs to braise in the oven about 30 minutes or so) and the turn out great ~

sure :)

Guinness Beef Stew

-4 lbs boneless beef chuck stew meat (i buy an eye roast and trim it myself)
-2 tbsp vegetable oil
-2 onions, chopped
-2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
-2 cups beef broth
-1 1/2 cups Guinness
-1 tbsp light brown sugar
-1 tsp dried thyme
-2 bay leaves
-5 carrots, peeled and cut into 1" chunks
-1 lb parsnips, peeled and cut into 1" chunks
-1 1/2 lb baby red potatoes, scrubbed clean
-1/4 cup all-purpose flour
-2 tbsp minced parsley (fresh)

Pat beef dry with paper towels and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tsp oil in large skillet over medium-high heat until just smoking. Cook half of beef until browned on all-sides, about 8 minutes. Transfer to slow cooker insert and repeat with additional 2 tsp oil and remaining beef.

Add remaining 2 tsp oil, onions, and 1/4 tsp salt to skillet and cook until onions are lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add broth, 1 1/4 cups stout, sugar, thyme, and bay leaves - bring to boil using wooden spoon to scrape up browned bits. Transfer to slow cooker insert.

Add carrots, parsnips, and potatoes to slow cooker insert. Cover and cook on low until meat is tender, 9-10 hours (or cook on hight for 6-7 hours). Set slow cooker to high. Whisk flour and remaining 1/4 cup beer until smooth, then stir mixture into slow cooker. Cook, covered, until sauce thickens, about 15 minutes. Stir in parsley, season with salt and pepper, and discard bay leaves. Serve!

I'm currently in the process of deciding what to do with Christmas lights this year.  I've got 12 trees I decorate with in the inside, but I'm thinking about the outside now.  Last year I used about 1200 lights outside and kinda threw it together and I was never *really* happy with the results.  This year, I've got a few more to add, probably still in the 1500 range.  1500 is not very many compared to the fancy displays.  I'd need 15,000+ for one of those set to music displays.  My house is a simple single story ranch so I don't have a lot of features to light on the outside.  Any ideas folks?

I've got one...  However, I no longer have garage space to tinker.  Besides, one of my favorite hobbies is driving my fiancée nuts which the 12 trees & all the lights  do.  She's a little "bah-humbug" when it comes to decorations, and I love decorating for Christmas.  It's like the plants.  I like plants, she hates plants, and our house is FULL of plants ( out of reach of the cats of course)
