So you're composed of nothing but 1's & 0's?

Personally I don't believe I add up to that much but.....

my communications does.   ;D

Sounds good!  I'm currently working but at the same time looking around for a cheap starter bike or a newer, not expensive bike I can finance that she can also ride.  Not sure the M750 is a good learning platform.  Some think it is ok being it's only 62HP, but I'm not 100% sure ~

Definantly undersprung in the rear with nearly 400lbs combined rider & passenger.  I also hadn't adjusted the preload ~

One of our folks we met up with used to ride a Monster.  She's got a 996 & a Speed Triple (1050 version) and we had some good conversations about Monsters and their behavior.  She's an excellent rider & has spent a good bit of time on the track and had this to say

"Riding a Monster aggressively is kind of like organized chaos.  It feels like it wants to lose the front then thrown hard into a turn and deep lean, then it starts to oscillate somewhere mid-turn.  It's almost like it's out of control, but it isn't and is quite fun once you get used to it's Monsterness."

I can say my confidence in what the bike can handle is much improved.

She's right about a stock one...

They're a lot better when properly sprung and damped.

I'm a full endorser of the Ninja 250 as a great learning bike. I still ride mine.  [thumbsup]

People with much bigger bikes always comment how fun mine is to ride after getting off too.

We're looking at the Ninja 250 and Ninja 500.  Those are both nice and great platforms.  We were thinking a 500 might be better since we ride in a lot of group rides.  Once she got used to riding, she could stay with the group without having to rev the piss out of the little 250.  I was thinking it might be useful longer than the 250.

I need to back off the preload on my forks, unfortunately, I can't do much about the damping.  I've got the Marzoochi forks and about all I can to is change springs, spring shim size, and oil.  The rear has been re-sprung, but the shock is 100% stock.  Suspension bits are out of my budget range, so I'll have to do what I can, and learn to manage the rest of it.

Do tell us more [thumbsup].  I'm just starting to fiddle with mine now.  Got fork springs and cranked up the preload about 6 mms on the rear.  Not really sure what I'm doing though. :-\
