You've obviously never watched the "Planet Earth" series. This isn't an isolated thing. There are apparently quite a few varieties of these fungi, each of them "targeting" a particular insect species.

We had record breaking rain yesterday. Today it was blowing sideways. No rain now, but it is very windy. White caps and waves on Elliot Bay.

Stopped by one of our local microbreweries on my way home and got 2 growlers filled  [beer]

I am not looking for any sympathy whatsoever but I swear today is a total FML day
like I haven't had in decades. 

Wow.

The good news is that tomorrow is right around the corner. Randimus will be home,
we have reservations at his favorite restaurant, and it's Friday.
