Can anyone recommend a digital gear indicator for a S2R1000?

The motogadget sure shift is a slick looking piece.  Check it out. http://motogadget.com/en/sureshift.html

Only if you have the transmission to match...

I guess I won't be getting a digital gear indicator. Was told by my dealer the S2R1000 doesn't have the transmission for it.

You can get one.  It'll work.  Kinda a 2 man job to set some up though.  They typically pick up info from the tachometer lead.  It's a process of going through each gear to the shift point, while it's on a stand.  Sketchy.  Why not just count gears in your head as your shifting.  Then... when you try to shift into 7th (like I always do  Undecided ) you know your in 6th.

Can't you just pick up the RPM and Speedo signal, and calculate the gear ratio from those?
